Camping near East Liverpool, Ohio
East Liverpool sits at the corner where Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania meet along the Ohio River, giving RV travellers access to campgrounds in all three states within a short drive. The closest options range from riverside RV parks to state-park campgrounds set in the wooded hills of the upper Ohio Valley.
Kennedy Marina Park in Newell, West Virginia offers riverfront RV camping with full hookups and boat-ramp access to the Ohio River. Across the river to the north, Beaver Creek State Park protects the gorge of Little Beaver Creek, a state and national wild and scenic river, and runs both a family campground on Leslie Road and a primitive equestrian camp on Sprucevale Road. Tomlinson Run State Park, in West Virginia's Northern Panhandle to the south, adds a 30-acre lake, a swimming pool, and traditional campsites plus camper cabins.
For adults-only travel, White Thorn Lodge Family Nudist Campground operates in the surrounding rural farmland.
Things to do around East Liverpool
Water recreation drives much of the trip planning here. The Ohio River draws anglers year-round, and Kennedy Marina Park has a boat launch that stays open past the RV season. Tomlinson Run State Park adds a 30-acre lake for fishing and paddling, plus boat rentals, a miniature golf course open Memorial Day through Labor Day, and a swimming pool.
Beaver Creek State Park is the hiking and history draw. Trails wind through sandstone cliffs and bottomland along Little Beaver Creek, and the Pioneer Village near the family campground preserves historic buildings, an operating water-powered grist mill, a blacksmith shop, a covered bridge, and a restored canal-era lock. The Dogwood and Vondergreen trails on the north side of the creek form part of the North Country Trail system and double as technical mountain-bike routes.

The main RV season runs roughly from April through October. Tomlinson Run State Park's campground is open spring through fall, weather permitting, and its five camper cabins are available April through October. Kennedy Marina Park operates seasonally as well, with the RV park closing on November 1, though the boat launch stays open longer.
Beaver Creek State Park keeps its family and equestrian campgrounds available for reservation year-round, but conditions are basic in any season: there are no showers, no RV fill water beyond a small jug faucet at the family camp, and only a handful of electric sites, so cold-weather stays require self-sufficient rigs.
Summer weekends fill early across the region. July and August bring warm, humid days and the heaviest thunderstorm activity. Fall delivers cooler nights and colour in the hardwood hills, while spring can be wet, with April and May among the rainiest months. Winter is cold with periodic snow, and most private campgrounds shut down.
How to book campsites near East Liverpool
Ohio state park sites, including the Family and Equestrian campgrounds at Beaver Creek State Park, are booked through the Ohio State Parks reservation system online or by calling 1-866-644-6727. Reservations may be made up to six months in advance, and each campground has its own address, so drivers should route to the specific camp rather than the park office.
Tomlinson Run State Park is booked through the West Virginia State Parks reservation system. Stays require a two-night minimum on Friday and Saturday, or one night Sunday through Thursday, with a 14-night maximum.
Kennedy Marina Park handles reservations directly through its office by phone. Private campgrounds in the area generally take bookings by phone or through their own websites, and summer holiday weekends should be locked in well ahead.
What to expect on the ground
Road access matters here. At Beaver Creek State Park, the one-lane bridge on Echo Dell Road cannot accommodate vehicles with trailers or RVs, so rigs must approach the family campground via Leslie Road from OH-7 and the equestrian camp via Sprucevale Road. The family campground has 6 electric sites and 39 non-electric sites with picnic tables, fire rings, and pit toilets, a dump station, but no showers and no RV fill water beyond a five-gallon well-water jug faucet.
Tomlinson Run offers a more full-service experience, with two bathhouses, showers, laundry, a convenience store, a dump station, and a mix of electric and non-electric sites suitable for tents and trailers. Kennedy Marina Park is smaller and river-focused, with 30- and 50-amp hookups, water, sewer, showers, a general store, and a boat ramp; the layout leans toward boaters and weekenders.

There's no commercial driver's license (CDL) or special RV endorsement required by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles for any Class A, Class B, Class C, travel trailer, or fifth wheel on RVezy. You'll just need to be 25 or older and upload a valid driver's license during checkout, where RVezy verifies your ID directly through the platform. Visiting from outside the US? Booking with confidence is easy because RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy for every reservation. That means consistent, transparent rules whether you are renting a campervan to chase fall foliage along the Ohio River or a Class C for a Beaver Creek State Park weekend. There is a grace-period window after booking where you can get a full refund, with additional flexibility based on how far in advance you cancel or if a natural disaster impacts your trip. If your plans shift, contact RVezy support and they will walk you through your options.

Yes, your dog is welcome on the trip. A pet-friendly RV rental East Liverpool is easy to find by toggling the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy, which instantly shows hosts who allow furry co-pilots. Once you're on the road, you've got great options: Beaver Creek State Park allows leashed pets on its 16-plus miles of trails and at the campground, and Thompson Park's 177 acres of greenspace inside East Liverpool are perfect for a morning walk. Tomlinson Run State Park, just across the river in West Virginia, also welcomes leashed dogs. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet fees and ask about nearby dog-friendly patios in the Ceramic City district.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/beaver-creek-state-parkCan the RV be delivered to my campground or driveway in East Liverpool?
Yes, RV delivery East Liverpool is one of the most popular options on RVezy and a game changer if it's your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will tow or drive the RV directly to Beaver Creek State Park's campground at 12021 Echo Dell Rd, to Lock 30 Woodlands RV Camp in Lisbon, to Tomlinson Run State Park across the river, or even to your own driveway in town. They'll level it, hook up water, sewer, and 30 or 50 amp power, and walk you through every system before they leave. To find it fast, toggle the Delivery filter on the search page and message hosts for a delivery quote based on mileage.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/beaver-creek-state-parkHow far can I drive from East Liverpool on a typical RV trip?
You can cover a lot of ground from East Liverpool because you are sitting at the crossroads of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Popular trips include Pittsburgh (about 40 miles east, roughly 1 hour), Cuyahoga Valley National Park (about 80 miles northwest, around 1 hour 45 minutes), Cleveland (about 85 miles northwest, around 1 hour 45 minutes), Amish Country in Holmes County (about 95 miles west, around 2 hours), and Ohiopyle State Park in the PA Laurel Highlands (about 100 miles east, about 2 hours). RV rental with unlimited mileage is offered by some hosts, while others charge per mile after a daily allowance, so check the mileage policy on each listing before you book.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=East%20Liverpool%2C%20OhioWhere are the best campgrounds near East Liverpool, OH for RV camping?
You're spoiled for choice with great RV camping East Liverpool options. Top picks include Beaver Creek State Park at 12021 Echo Dell Rd, where 2,722 wooded acres meet Little Beaver Creek (a State and National Wild and Scenic River); Tomlinson Run State Park in New Manchester, WV, just 15 minutes south with a swimming pool and lake; Lock 30 Woodlands RV Camp in Lisbon, about 20 minutes west with full hookups; Valley View Campground for a quiet family vibe; and Salem/Lisbon KOA Holiday for resort-style amenities like a pool and Wi-Fi. Pro tip: state park sites at Beaver Creek are first-come, first-served at certain loops, so arrive by Thursday on holiday weekends.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/beaver-creek-state-parkWhen is the best time to take an East Liverpool RV trip?
Late spring through mid-fall is the sweet spot for an East Liverpool RV trip. June, July, and August deliver warm days averaging 80 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit, perfect for swimming at Tomlinson Run or paddling Little Beaver Creek, though humidity can be high. The locals' secret season is mid-September through late October, when temperatures cool to the 60s and 70s and the Appalachian foothills explode with red and gold foliage along the Ohio River Scenic Byway. Spring (April to May) brings wildflowers to Beaver Creek State Park and lower rental prices. Winter highs hover in the 30s and 40s, so if you go cold-weather camping, book a four-season rig with heated tanks.
weather.gov/pbz/I have never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in East Liverpool?
You are going to do great, and you are not on your own. Every RVezy host meets you at pickup for a full walkthrough covering driving, leveling, hookups, slide-outs, the generator, and waste tanks, and you can text them throughout the trip. East Liverpool is a friendly place to learn because most routes out of town (State Route 11, US-30, and US-22) are wide, well-marked, and lightly trafficked compared to a big metro. First-timers often pick a Class C motorhome or a small travel trailer since both drive like an oversized van. If hills feel intimidating, ask about delivery to Beaver Creek State Park, so your first time renting an RV starts with you already parked.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat if I have a breakdown or issue during my trip?
You are covered around the clock. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so if you get a flat on US-30, a dead battery at Tomlinson Run, or a propane issue at Lock 30 Woodlands, help is one call away. Your host is also just a message away for quick fixes like resetting the inverter or troubleshooting the water pump, since they know their rig better than anyone. For bigger issues, RVezy support is available before, during, and after your trip. The closest RV service centers are in nearby Calcutta, OH and Chester, WV, both under 15 minutes from downtown East Liverpool.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my East Liverpool RV rental into Pennsylvania, West Virginia, or Canada?
Yes, crossing state lines is one of the best parts of renting from East Liverpool since you are minutes from two other states. Most hosts let you explore Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh is 40 miles east, Ohiopyle is 100 miles east) and West Virginia (Tomlinson Run State Park is 15 minutes south), and the included protection plan travels with you across the US. Heading to Canada is allowed on many listings but depends on the host and the specific RV, so message them before booking to confirm. One important note: travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage does not extend there.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat should I budget for fuel on an RV road trip from East Liverpool?
Fuel is usually the second-biggest line item after the nightly rate, so it pays to plan. Expect roughly 8 to 10 miles per gallon for a Class A, 10 to 14 for a Class C, 14 to 18 for a Class B campervan, and 10 to 13 for a truck towing a travel trailer. Ohio gas prices have recently averaged in the low-to-mid $3 range per gallon for regular, with diesel a bit higher. For a typical 300-mile RV road trip from East Liverpool to Cuyahoga Valley and back, budget around $90 to $130 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Ohio rather than Pennsylvania, which often has higher pump prices.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near East Liverpool?
Earlier is better, but you've got more flexibility here than in a national-park hotspot. Ohio State Parks (including Beaver Creek) and West Virginia State Parks (Tomlinson Run) take reservations up to 12 months in advance through their official reservation systems, and prime summer weekends fill up by March or April. Private parks like Lock 30 Woodlands and Salem/Lisbon KOA generally book 4 to 8 weeks ahead for summer Saturdays. Pro tip: midweek arrivals (Sunday through Thursday) often still have openings just days out, even in July. If you're hoping to camp at Beaver Creek State Park for the fall foliage peak in mid-October, reserve by late August.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/reserve-a-siteWhat are driving conditions like around East Liverpool?
Driving an RV around East Liverpool is approachable but does involve some hills since you're in the Appalachian foothills along the Ohio River. State Route 11 and US-30 are the main four-lane corridors and handle big rigs comfortably. Watch for the steeper grades on State Route 7 heading south toward Wheeling and on the back roads into Beaver Creek State Park. Downtown East Liverpool has a few narrow brick streets near the historic Ceramic City district, so larger Class A motorhomes are best parked on the outskirts. Winter can bring snow and ice from December through February, so most renters stick to April through November for the easiest road conditions.
transportation.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/odot/travelWhat amenities do campgrounds near East Liverpool offer?
You'll find a great range of amenities at campgrounds near East Liverpool. Beaver Creek State Park's campground offers electric hookups, hot showers, a dump station, drinking water fill stations, and a camp store. Tomlinson Run State Park (15 minutes south in WV) has full hookups at many sites plus a swimming pool, lake, and laundry. Private parks like Lock 30 Woodlands and Salem/Lisbon KOA add Wi-Fi, propane refills, and family activities. If you need a dump station between trips, both state parks allow paid day-use dumping. Pro tip: fill your fresh tank before leaving the campground, since rural overlooks along the Ohio River Scenic Byway don't have potable water spigots.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/beaver-creek-state-parkWhat should I expect inside an East Liverpool RV rental?
Most motorhome rentals in East Liverpool come fully equipped with a queen or king bed, convertible dinette and sofa sleepers, a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), an indoor bathroom with shower and toilet, air conditioning, furnace heat, and dedicated seatbelts for travel. Many include a flat-screen TV, Bluetooth stereo, awning, outdoor camp chairs, and a propane fire pit. Wi-Fi is hit-or-miss in the Ohio River Valley hills, so look for rigs with a cellular signal booster if you plan to work remotely. Generators are common on Class A and Class C motorhomes and essential if you are boondocking. Review the listing amenity list and message the host with any questions before booking.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=East%20Liverpool%2C%20OhioWhat add-ons and pickup options are common when you rent an RV in East Liverpool?
When you rent an RV in East Liverpool, hosts make customizing easy with popular add-ons like bedding and linen packages ($25 to $75), camp chairs and tables ($10 to $25), generators (often included on motorhomes), kayaks or bikes ($20 to $50 per day), and propane refills. Delivery and setup is the most loved upgrade, especially to Beaver Creek State Park or Tomlinson Run. Mileage policies vary by host: some offer unlimited miles, while others include 100 to 150 free miles per night plus $0.35 to $0.50 per extra mile. Pickup windows are usually flexible, with most hosts offering early afternoon handoffs around 1 to 3 p.m. and morning returns. Message the host before booking to fine-tune everything.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=East%20Liverpool%2C%20OhioHow do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple, secure, and 100 percent online through RVezy, so there is no cash, no checks, and no awkward exchanges with the host. You pay your trip total by credit or debit card when you book, and a refundable security deposit is held separately a few days before pickup. As long as you return the RV in the same condition with the tanks handled per the host's instructions, that hold is released after the trip. The deposit amount varies by RV class and host, typically $500 to $1,500. Pro tip: take date-stamped walkaround photos at pickup and dropoff in East Liverpool's daylight to make any deposit conversations effortless.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhat's a great first RV itinerary from East Liverpool for a family?
For a family RV trip East Liverpool first-timers can't beat a 3-night loop. Night 1: Beaver Creek State Park (12021 Echo Dell Rd), just 15 minutes from town, where kids love the Pioneer Village and Little Beaver Creek. Night 2: Tomlinson Run State Park in WV, 20 minutes south, with a swimming pool and stocked fishing lake. Night 3: Lock 30 Woodlands RV Camp in Lisbon for full hookups and a quiet finish. Sprinkle in stops at the Museum of Ceramics downtown and the World's Largest Teapot in Chester, WV (3 miles away, a quirky must-see). The whole route stays under 60 miles of driving total, ideal for a campervan rental East Liverpool or any first motorhome.
