Campgrounds and RV parks near Kinsman Center, OH

Fishing and boating anchor most itineraries. Pymatuning Reservoir provides fishing for walleye, muskellunge, bass, and panfish, with boat rentals available at three marinas. The Ohio-side campground also has a small swimming beach, a fishing pier, and boat launches within walking distance of many sites. On shore, the Andover / Pymatuning Lake KOA Holiday adds family amenities including a heated outdoor swimming pool, a large game room, a clubhouse, basketball courts, a gaga pit, and themed event weekends. Beyond the lake, neighboring Ashtabula County is home to 19 covered bridges, including the longest and shortest drivable covered bridges in the United States, plus back-road drives through nearby Amish country.

The core RV season runs from late spring through early fall. The state park campground fills up during summer weekends, so families targeting July and August should plan reservations well ahead of arrival. Weekdays in June and early September tend to be easier to book while the weather stays warm enough for the beach and lake. Shoulder-season travelers get more availability but should expect cooler nights and reduced services. At Pymatuning State Park, off-peak winter camping is limited to sites 1 through 59 and 85 through 87, full-service sites 40 through 59 have no water, the north dump station is available weather permitting, and water is available only at a frost-free hydrant near the basketball court. Cabin availability follows a similar pattern. The park operates 26 heated family cottages that sleep six and are available year-round, 32 standard cottages sleeping four open May through November, one premium cottage, and 10 newly constructed one-bedroom cabins, giving planners a fallback if RV sites are full.

Sites near Pymatuning skew family-oriented and lake-focused rather than remote. At the state park, the campground features heated showerhouses with flush toilets, coin-operated laundry facilities, two dump stations, and a camp store stocked with supplies and snacks. Sites 88 through 108 are non-electric, sites 109 through 237 are electric, and pets are permitted in most of camping area 3. Access from major routes is straightforward. From Interstate 90, drivers take State Route 7 south to Andover, then continue south on SR 85 to the park entrance at 7514 Pymatuning Lake Road, Andover, OH 44003. Private parks in the area range from full-service KOA-style resorts with pools and organized activities to smaller lake-adjacent campgrounds better suited to quieter stays.
