Campgrounds near Cashion, Oklahoma
Cashion sits in Kingfisher and Logan counties on the rolling prairie north of Oklahoma City, roughly 30 miles from the OKC metro and within easy reach of Guthrie, Edmond, and Kingfisher. The town itself is small, so most RV travelers base out of nearby private parks and use Cashion as a quiet home node while exploring central Oklahoma. Cedar Valley RV Park and Golf, Sleepy Hollow RV Park, Pioneer RV Park, Stonegate RV Park and Stonegate Inn, and Stay Express are the closest options for full hookups.
The surrounding region is defined by wide-open plains, cross-timbers oak country to the east, and a chain of reservoirs built for flood control and recreation. Oklahoma sits in a humid subtropical climate zone across most of the central and eastern state, with warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico driving much of the humidity and precipitation.
Public camping is anchored by the Oklahoma State Parks system and a handful of city-managed lakes. Arcadia Lake, managed by the City of Edmond, sits about 30 minutes from Cashion and offers electric, water, and full-hookup sites. Lake Thunderbird State Park near Norman and Roman Nose State Park to the northwest round out the closest state-run options.
Things to do near Cashion
Water recreation dominates the area. Arcadia Lake offers fishing, boating, and swim beaches within a short drive, and Lake Thunderbird State Park features marinas, boat rentals, and campgrounds with hookup sites. Anglers target largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish across the region's reservoirs.
Historic Route 66 runs just south through Edmond and Arcadia, with the Round Barn and Pops 66 Soda Ranch as easy day stops. Oklahoma City is close enough for a day trip to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, the Oklahoma City Zoo, the Myriad Botanical Gardens, and the Oklahoma City National Memorial.
For a nature-focused day, Roman Nose State Park sits about an hour from Cashion and offers hiking and horseback trails, two small lakes for fishing or boating, and RV campsites with electric and water hookups.

Spring and fall are the strongest camping windows. March through May brings warming days, green prairie, and the region's wettest stretch, with May typically the wettest month. Spring is also severe-weather season across central Oklahoma: peak tornado activity generally runs from April through June, with May the most active month on average. RVers should monitor NWS Norman forecasts, know where the campground's shelter or hard-walled restroom is located, and be prepared to shift dates around watch days.
Summer is hot and humid. July mean temperature at Oklahoma City is about 83°F, with typical afternoon highs in the mid 90s and overnight lows in the low 70s. Sites with 50-amp service and shaded pads are worth prioritizing for air-conditioning load. Lake use is heaviest around Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
Fall cools through October and November and delivers the year's most stable camping weather, with a secondary precipitation peak in September and October. Winter is mild by Plains standards but hard freezes occur, so RVers should plan for water-line protection on cold snaps.

The hosts were very easy to communicate with and available to answer all of our questions. The RV is very nice with a very comfortable mattress. My only concerns were the windshield washer fluid tank didn’t hold the washer fluid we bought and the two drawers that didn’t want to stay closed while moving. I was relieved to find out that the drawers were already like that. I would definitely recommend Cole and Eva and their RV.

Booking a campsite near Cashion
Private parks around Cashion, including Cedar Valley RV Park and Golf, Sleepy Hollow RV Park, Pioneer RV Park, Stonegate RV Park and Stonegate Inn, and Stay Express, take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. Call ahead for big rigs and slide-outs to confirm pull-through length and 50-amp availability, and ask about monthly rates if planning an extended stay.
For Oklahoma State Parks, bookings go through the ReserveAmerica portal at okstateparks.reserveamerica.com. Campers can reserve up to 11 months in advance, and the maximum stay is 14 days. Campsite, cabin, and lodge reservations must be cancelled at least five days before the scheduled arrival date to receive a full refund; cancellations inside that window forfeit the first night's fees.
For Arcadia Lake near Edmond, the City of Edmond operates its own reservation system through the park office and city website rather than the state portal.
What to expect on the ground
Terrain around Cashion is flat to gently rolling, which means easy backing, level pads, and few low-clearance surprises on approach roads. Private parks in the area typically offer full hookups, 30- and 50-amp service, and pull-through options; state-park sites more often run water-and-electric with a shared dump station.
Cell service on major carriers is generally solid across the Cashion, Guthrie, and Edmond corridor, and thins out only in low draws near the lakes. Grocery, fuel, propane, and RV parts are easiest to source in Edmond or on the north side of Oklahoma City, about 20 to 30 minutes south.
Oklahoma State Parks cap stays at 14 days, and pets are generally welcome on leash in campground areas. Storm awareness is part of the routine here: keep a weather radio on hand from March through June and identify shelter options at check-in.

weather.gov/oun/I've never driven an RV before, will I be okay around Cashion?
You are in one of the easier places in the country to learn. Your host gives you a full walkthrough of driving, leveling, hookups, and tanks at pickup, and you can call or text them throughout the trip with questions. If even a short drive feels intimidating, book RV delivery in Cashion and skip driving entirely. Pro tip: do a 15-minute practice loop around Cashion's quiet farm roads before pointing the RV toward Oklahoma City or Tulsa traffic, you will feel like a pro within a mile.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?
You are never on your own. Every RV rental in Cashion, OK booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on I-35, a dead battery at Roman Nose State Park, or an engine warning light near Guthrie can all be resolved with one phone call. Pro tip: save the RVezy support number and your host's number to your phone before you leave Cashion, and snap a photo of the RV's VIN and license plate so you have them handy if you ever need to make a call.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Cashion RV rental to Texas, Kansas, or other states?
Yes, interstate travel is welcomed on most RVezy bookings, which makes a Cashion location ideal since you are within a day's drive of five neighboring states. Popular routes include south to the Texas Hill Country (about 6 hours to Austin), west to Palo Duro Canyon (4.5 hours), north to the Flint Hills of Kansas (3 hours), or east to Hot Springs, Arkansas (4 hours). Confirm out-of-state travel with your host before booking by sending a quick message from the listing page. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend across the border. Pro tip: pair Oklahoma's low fuel prices with a Texas or Arkansas route, fueling up in-state before you cross usually saves real money.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat's the fuel budget for an RV trip around Cashion?
Oklahoma consistently has some of the lowest gas and diesel prices in the country, so fuel is a smaller worry here than almost anywhere else. Plan for roughly 8 to 10 miles per gallon on a Class C motorhome rental Cashion travelers commonly book, 6 to 8 MPG on a Class A, and 12 to 18 MPG when towing a travel trailer with a capable truck. For a 4-day, 500-mile loop through Lake Arcadia, OKC, and Roman Nose, expect to spend roughly $150 to $220 on fuel at current Oklahoma pump prices. Pro tip: the Love's and OnCue stations along Highway 74 and I-35 are RV-friendly with high-clearance pumps, easier to pull in and out of than tighter urban stations.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Cashion?
For the best campgrounds near Cashion, aim to reserve 4 to 8 weeks ahead for spring and fall weekends, and as much as 3 to 4 months ahead for major holidays like Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. Oklahoma State Parks (including Roman Nose and Lake Thunderbird) use a single online reservation system through TravelOK, where you can book up to 11 months out. Arcadia Lake is managed by the City of Edmond and has its own reservation system. Private parks often have shorter lead times and same-week openings midweek. Pro tip: book your RV on RVezy first, then reserve the campground, that way you know your rig's exact length and hookup needs before you pick a site.

Mileage policies vary by listing, with included daily miles ranging from 100 to unlimited. Pro tip: bundle delivery plus a stocked kitchen kit on your first trip, you will skip the grocery run on day one and head straight to the lake.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Cashion%2C%20OklahomaHow do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is handled securely through the RVezy platform, never in cash directly to the host, so your trip is documented and protected from booking to return. You will pay the rental total at checkout, and a refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card shortly before pickup. As long as the RV comes back in the condition it left, with no new damage, that hold is released after your trip. The deposit amount is set per listing and is shown clearly before you book, separate from the booking payment. Pro tip: do a quick walkaround video with your host at both pickup and dropoff, it is the single best way to keep the security deposit return process smooth and stress-free.
