Campgrounds and RV parks near Cecil-Bishop, PA

Cecil-Bishop sits in Washington County, roughly 20 miles southwest of downtown Pittsburgh, in the rolling hills of southwestern Pennsylvania. The area works well as a base for RV travelers who want quick access to the city while camping in quieter, wooded terrain along the I-79 and I-70 corridors. Options in the area range from full-service private parks to a large Pennsylvania state park campground. The Washington/Pittsburgh SW KOA sits high among wooded hills about 28 miles south of Pittsburgh, with volleyball, horseshoes and a pool on site. Sioux - Raccoon Creek State Park, west of Cecil-Bishop in Beaver County, offers a large public campground inside one of Pennsylvania's biggest state parks. Smaller private options include Hotel RV West Alexander near the West Virginia line, Ernies Acres Campground, and Firehouse RV Campgrounds. Together these give RV renters a mix of pull-through, full-hookup sites and more rustic state-park loops within roughly a 30- to 45-minute drive of Cecil-Bishop.

Sioux - Raccoon Creek State Park is reserved through the Pennsylvania State Parks system on the pa.gov reservation site. Reservations must be made 3 days ahead of arrival and can be made up to 11 months in advance. Popular summer weekends and holidays fill within days of opening, so lock in dates as early as possible for July and August. Private parks including the Washington/Pittsburgh SW KOA Journey, Hotel RV West Alexander, Ernies Acres Campground, and Firehouse RV Campgrounds take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. KOA Journey sites in this area require a full-stay deposit at the time of booking, and cancellations must be made before posted deadlines to receive a refund of the deposit, less an administrative cancellation fee. Book big-rig and pull-through sites first if traveling in a Class A or a rental over 30 feet.
