Campgrounds and RV parks near Claysville, PA

Claysville sits in Washington County in the southwestern corner of Pennsylvania, minutes from the West Virginia state line and within an easy drive of Pittsburgh. The area is rural and hilly, dotted with covered bridges and small towns, and it serves as a practical base for RV travelers heading to Ohio Valley attractions or breaking up an I-70 trip. Nearby options span private RV parks and public land. Washington / Pittsburgh SW KOA Journey sits in the wooded hills roughly 28 miles south of Pittsburgh and functions as a full-service stopover with long pull-through sites. Ernies Acres Campground and Hotel RV West Alexander offer closer-in private stays, while Ryerson Station State Park provides a state-run campground about a half hour south in Greene County. For a bigger recreation footprint, Grand Vue Park in Moundsville, West Virginia, combines full-hookup sites with on-site dining, a pool, and adventure activities on a ridge above the Ohio Valley. Together these five properties cover most travel styles, from quick overnight halts to multi-day family stays.

Reservation systems vary by operator. Pennsylvania state park sites, including Ryerson Station State Park, are booked through the state's reservation portal or by calling 888-PA-PARKS. Standard sites can be reserved up to eleven months in advance, and camping cottages and deluxe cottages must be booked at least three days ahead of arrival. Private parks use their own systems. Washington / Pittsburgh SW KOA Journey books through the KOA site and app, and Grand Vue Park handles reservations through its own online portal. Hotel RV West Alexander and Ernies Acres Campground take bookings directly through the operators. For holiday weekends and midsummer, reserve well ahead. Cottages, cabins, and full-hookup pull-through sites go first, and cancellations are common enough that scan or waitlist services can help fill last-minute gaps.
