Campgrounds near Imperial, Pennsylvania
Imperial sits in Allegheny County, roughly a 25-minute drive west of downtown Pittsburgh and near the Washington County line. The village is within easy reach of Pittsburgh International Airport, U.S. Route 22, and Interstate 376, which makes it a practical staging point for RV travelers heading to the state parks and private campgrounds spread across the Ohio River valley.
The closest full-service option for RV camping is Sioux at Raccoon Creek State Park, about 20 miles southwest, followed by Hotel RV Beaver and the Washington / Pittsburgh SW KOA Journey. Tomlinson Run State Park, across the state line in West Virginia's northern panhandle, adds another public-park option within about an hour's drive.
Most sites in the area serve a mix of tent campers, travel trailers, and larger motorhomes. Public parks tend to be seasonal, while private parks such as Indian Brave Campgrounds and the KOA operate on longer schedules and typically offer full hookups.
Things to do near Imperial
Raccoon Creek State Park is the anchor attraction. The park covers 7,572 acres and centers on the 101-acre Raccoon Lake, with a swimming beach, boat rentals, and stocked-trout fishing. The Wildflower Reserve protects more than 700 species of plants along about 4.5 miles of trails, and the broader park has over 19 miles of hiking trails.
Tomlinson Run State Park adds a lake, a swimming pool with a long water slide, miniature golf, and an 18-hole disc golf course on the West Virginia side. The park spans about 1,398 acres of forested hills and sandstone cliffs, with canoeing and fishing on the lake and ponds.
Downtown Pittsburgh, the Carnegie Science Center, and Kennywood amusement park are all reachable as day trips, and the Montour Trail passes just south of Imperial for cycling and walking.

Dan’s camper was perfect for our weekend camping trip. It was clean, organized, and fit our family of 4 with plenty of room. Dan was very helpful at pick up and drop off getting everything hooked up and offloaded.
