Campgrounds and RV parks near Leetsdale, PA

Leetsdale is a small borough on the Ohio River in Allegheny County, about a twenty-minute drive northwest of downtown Pittsburgh. It sits within easy reach of the region's largest public campground at Raccoon Creek State Park, plus a handful of private RV parks in Beaver and Butler counties. The area suits RV renters who want a Pittsburgh basecamp without staying in the city itself. The closest full-service option to the borough is Hotel RV Beaver, a compact private park along the river corridor. Farther west, Sioux - Raccoon Creek State Park sits within a large state park that includes a 101-acre lake, rustic tent sites, and modern cabins. To the north, Indian Brave Campgrounds and Valley View Campground serve travellers heading toward Butler County, and White Thorn Lodge Family Nudist Campground operates as a members-focused clothing-optional resort in Lawrence County. Most sites in the area are wooded, moderately shaded, and set on rolling terrain typical of the Allegheny Plateau. Cell coverage is spotty inside the state park, so downloading maps before arrival is recommended.

Reservations for Raccoon Creek State Park, including the Sioux tent areas and the modern cabins, go through the Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests reservation system operated by Aspira. Sites can be booked online or by calling 888-PA-PARKS, and the reservation window opens up to eleven months in advance, with new inventory releasing at noon Eastern Time. Holiday weekends and cabin bookings should be secured at least three months out; peak summer weekends often fill sooner. A limited number of sites are held for first-come, first-served walk-ins, but relying on this is risky in July and August. Private campgrounds in the area, including Hotel RV Beaver, Indian Brave Campgrounds, Valley View Campground, and White Thorn Lodge Family Nudist Campground, book directly through each operator. Confirm rig-length limits and hookup type before finalizing a rental.
