Winter camping is limited; many private parks close, and travelers relying on hookups should confirm season dates before booking. Snow and ice are common from December through February, and some park roads and day-use areas around Slippery Rock Creek can be hazardous after storms.

Some sites are open and grassy; others sit under mature hardwoods with tighter clearances for larger rigs. Full hookups are common at the resort-style parks such as RV Village Camping Resort and Mercer / Grove City KOA Holiday, while smaller properties may offer water and electric only, with dump stations on site.
