Campgrounds and RV parks near Stoneboro, PA

Stoneboro sits in Mercer County in western Pennsylvania, just south of Lake Wilhelm and within minutes of Maurice K. Goddard State Park. The area draws RV travelers looking for lake access, quiet rural roads, and easy proximity to I-79 and I-80, which put Erie, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland within a reasonable drive. Camping in the area is handled by private operators, since Maurice K. Goddard State Park itself does not have a campground. Goddard Park VacationLand Campground and Goddard Park Vacationland Campground sit on 85 acres adjacent to the state park and are among the largest resort-style parks in western Pennsylvania. Camp Wilhelm Campground and Plantation Park offer smaller, family-run alternatives near the lake. Farther south, Mercer / Grove City KOA Holiday sits near I-79 Exit 113 and works well as a highway-adjacent base with full hookups. Most RV travelers use the area for a lake-focused trip: fishing on Lake Wilhelm, paddling, birding for eagles and ospreys, and shorter drives out to Grove City Premium Outlets or Amish country west of town.

Booking in the Stoneboro area is handled almost entirely by private operators, since Maurice K. Goddard State Park does not offer camping. Goddard Park Vacationland Campground takes reservations directly through its website or by phone, and it lists more than 590 sites across 85 acres, so summer availability is usually workable outside of holiday weekends. Mercer / Grove City KOA Holiday is open April 1 to October 31 and reserves online through the KOA website or by phone. Holiday weekends, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Halloween, are treated as special-rate periods with stricter cancellation terms, so read the policy at the time of booking. For summer holiday weekends and the peak July-August window, book several months out, particularly for full-hookup pull-through sites that fit larger rentals.
