Campgrounds and RV parks near West Mayfield, PA

West Mayfield is a small borough in northern Beaver County, Pennsylvania, part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area and set on a plateau above the Beaver River valley near Beaver Falls. The area sits about 35 miles northwest of downtown Pittsburgh, so RV travelers get a mix of rural campgrounds, riverside sites, and quick access to city attractions. Private options close to town include Hotel RV Beaver, Valley View Campground, Indian Brave Campgrounds, and Breakneck Campground, plus the clothing-optional White Thorn Lodge Family Nudist Campground for adults-only groups. Most operate as seasonal parks with full or partial hookups, laundry, and dump stations, and cater to weekenders from the Pittsburgh and Youngstown metros. Public camping is anchored by Raccoon Creek State Park, roughly a 40-minute drive south, which offers 172 modern tent and trailer sites plus 10 cabins along the 101-acre Raccoon Lake. Between private grounds close to Route 18 and Interstate 376 and the larger state park to the south, the region works well for families splitting time between hiking, lake days, and Pittsburgh sightseeing.

For Raccoon Creek State Park, reservations run through the Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests reservation system on ReserveAmerica or by calling 888-PA-PARKS. Sites can be booked up to 11 months in advance and as late as noon on the day of arrival, with new inventory releasing at noon Eastern Time. Cabins and holiday weekends fill first, so booking three or more months out is smart for summer weekends. Private campgrounds such as Hotel RV Beaver, Valley View Campground, Indian Brave Campgrounds, and Breakneck Campground take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. White Thorn Lodge requires membership screening for first-time visitors. For all sites, confirm rig-length limits, hookup type, and pet rules before locking in a stay.
