Campgrounds and RV parks near Camp Croft, SC

Camp Croft refers to the former World War II Army infantry training center just outside Spartanburg, South Carolina. The training camp closed in 1947 and the land was later reopened to the public as Croft State Park, the anchor campground for RV renters in the area. The park sits only a few miles from downtown Spartanburg, which puts groceries, fuel, and supply stops within easy reach of the campsite. Croft State Park covers rolling, wooded terrain and is the closest developed campground to the Camp Croft area. Beyond the state park, nearby options include Pine Ridge Campground and Cunningham RV Park for RV-focused stays, Spacious Skies Peach Haven in Gaffney for family amenities, and Turtle Creek Campground within reasonable driving distance. The area works well as either a base for exploring the South Carolina Upstate or a stopover along the I-85 corridor between Atlanta and Charlotte. Terrain is gentle, sites are shaded, and access roads are paved and truck-friendly.

Croft State Park bookings go through the official South Carolina State Parks reservation system, online or by calling 1-866-345-PARK. Reservations may be made up to 13 months in advance, and same-day or day-before requests must be arranged directly with the park. Minimum stay is 2 nights for advance reservations, longer stays may apply during peak season and holidays, and the maximum stay is 14 nights before campers must vacate for 7 days. Private campgrounds in the area, including Pine Ridge Campground, Cunningham RV Park, Spacious Skies Peach Haven, and Turtle Creek Campground, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Summer weekends and holiday periods fill early, so book several weeks out.
