The Upstate has a humid subtropical climate with hot, muggy summers and cool, wet winters. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons for RV travel: daytime highs are in the 60s to low 80s Fahrenheit, humidity is lower, and rainfall is spread across the season rather than concentrated in heavy afternoon storms. These shoulder seasons are the busiest for state park sites, so book early for weekends.
Summer brings temperatures near 90 with frequent afternoon thunderstorms and the region's heaviest precipitation. Croft and private parks stay open, and lake and pool access is a draw for families, but shaded sites go quickly. Peak booking pressure runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day and around fall color in October.
Winter is the quietest season. Croft State Park is open year-round, though the reservation system notes rotating winter closures for remediation work, with sites closed in phases rather than all at once. Snowfall is light, typically only a few inches per year in the Upstate.

This was our second time renting from Matt and Shannon, and once again everything was smooth from start to finish. Their RV made our weekend at the Ebony Horsemen Rodeo comfortable and stress-free. Can't wait to book with them again for next year's event!

Here’s a polished rewrite of your review: --- Matt was an outstanding host. He was flexible when I needed to adjust both the drop-off location and the rental dates for the RV. He personally met me to hand over the RV, walked me through how to use the equipment, and made sure I felt comfortable. Throughout the process, he was attentive and responsive to my concerns, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable.

This was my first RV traveling experience and it was a bit overwhelming. Timofey’s knowledge and patience were really helpful. The RV had everything we needed. I would highly recommend renting from him.
