Campgrounds and RV parks near Crump, TN

Shiloh National Military Park is the primary draw, with a driving tour, visitor center, and hiking trails across the Civil War battlefield and national cemetery. The park is small enough for a half-day tour and detailed enough to fill a full day for history-focused visitors. Pickwick Lake and the Tennessee River anchor the outdoor recreation. Anglers target smallmouth bass and catfish below Pickwick Dam, while boaters, kayakers, and swimmers use ramps and public beaches around Pickwick Landing State Park. The state park also has a golf course, marina, and lake trail. Savannah, across the river, offers grocery resupply, fuel, and casual dining within a short drive of most campgrounds.

Spring and fall are the strongest windows for RV travel in this part of Tennessee. March through May brings wildflowers along the battlefield trails and comfortable temperatures for hiking, though spring is also among the wettest stretches and severe thunderstorms are possible. September and October combine mild days, lower humidity, and reliable lake conditions. Summer is peak season for lake recreation and family camping. Highs regularly reach the upper 80s and low 90s Fahrenheit, with high humidity and afternoon thunderstorms. Waterfront sites at Pickwick Landing State Park and nearby private RV parks fill weeks in advance for holiday weekends. Winter is quieter. Pickwick Dam Campground typically operates from mid-March through mid-November and closes for the off-season. Pickwick Landing State Park's Bruton Branch area is open year-round, and Battlefield Campground remains accessible for cold-weather visits to Shiloh, though facilities are limited.

Sites in the Crump and Pickwick area range from full-hookup pads at Botel Campground and Pickwick Dam Campground to primitive lakeside sites at Pickwick Landing State Park's Bruton Branch and open dry-camping fields at Battlefield Campground. Terrain along the lake and river is often uneven, and reviewers note that some state park sites slope enough to require leveling blocks. Cell coverage is generally reliable near Savannah and Counce but can drop in the wooded sections around Shiloh. Bring drinking water for stays at Bruton Branch, where the bathhouse water source is untreated well water. Expect biting insects near the water in summer and pack for humidity and afternoon storms.
