Campgrounds and RV parks near Decaturville, TN

Decaturville sits in Decatur County in West Tennessee, on the western side of the Tennessee River between Jackson and the river valley. The area functions as a practical base for RV travelers touring two large state parks and a nearby lake campground within a short drive. The closest state-park camping is at Mousetail Landing State Park in neighboring Perry County, which sits on the eastern bank of the Tennessee River and covers roughly 1,867 acres with multiple camping areas. Options include the Main campground with water and electric hookups and a modern bathhouse, and the Spring Creek primitive campground along the river. About 25 miles to the northwest, Natchez Trace State Park spans a much larger landscape of forest, lakes, and wildlife management land, with Pin Oak RV sites on Pin Oak Lake and a dedicated Wrangler Horse Camp for equestrians. Sycamore Lake Campground near Lexington rounds out the local mix with waterfront RV sites on the Beech River watershed's Sycamore Reservoir.

Tennessee State Parks use one central reservation system. Advance reservations are available up to one year ahead through reserve.tnstateparks.com or by calling 888-TN-PARKS. A non-refundable advance reservation fee applies per campsite, and most sites require a minimum two-night stay. Cancellations two or more days before arrival are refunded minus the reservation fee. Cancelling one day out forfeits the first night's fees, and same-day cancellations on multi-night stays forfeit the first two nights. Standard maximum stay is 14 days, extended to 28 days from December 1 through February. Sycamore Lake Campground books directly through the operator (online reservations are accepted through the campground's booking partner). For summer weekends and holiday periods at Pin Oak RV and Mousetail Landing, plan to reserve several weeks to several months in advance.
