Campgrounds and RV parks near Moscow, TN

The Wolf River corridor is the local draw. Paddling, birding, and fishing are common along Wolf River Wildlife Management Area, and the Ghost River section west of Moscow is a well-known flatwater canoe route. Memphis music attractions, including Graceland, Sun Studio, and Beale Street, sit within an hour's drive. At Front - Wall Doxey State Park, Spring Lake offers 60 acres of well-stocked fresh spring water for fishing, including bass, bream, and catfish. A two and a half mile nature trail winds around Spring Lake, affording views of the water and native Mississippi flora and fauna, and two 18-hole disc golf courses, Spring Creek and Turkey Hollow, are open to the public with a small park entrance fee. Families staying at Agricenter RV Park are close to the Agricenter Farmers Market and Shelby Farms Park, one of the largest urban parks in the country.

Spring and fall are the strongest windows for RV travel around Moscow. March through May brings mild days, blooming dogwoods, and active fishing on Wolf River and Spring Lake, though severe weather, though not usually violent, is mostly likely during the spring from March through May and, secondarily, the late fall. Book weekends at Front - Wall Doxey State Park several weeks ahead during this window, since the park is open year-round and books up quickly for holidays. Summers are hot and humid, with afternoon highs routinely in the low 90s and heavy mosquito activity near wooded and lakeside sites. Sites with 50-amp service and shade become priorities. Agricenter RV Park in Memphis and Ashland RV Connections stay busy through festival season. Late fall through winter is the quietest stretch. Nights can drop below freezing, and heavy rain events are common from December through February, but state and private parks in the area generally stay open. Memphis averages 2.7 inches of snow annually and usually receives a few days of snow each winter with amounts almost always totaling less than an inch or two per event.

Expect a rural, low-key setting. Roads around Moscow are two-lane and quiet, and cell coverage is generally reliable near main highways but can dip in wooded pockets along the Wolf River bottoms. Bring a water filter or pressure regulator; several regional parks note variable water quality and pressure. Front - Wall Doxey State Park's developed camp sites feature picnic tables, grills, and water and electrical hook-ups, with bathhouses with hot showers and a central sewage dumping station located in the developed camping area. A laundry facility is available for overnight campers. Fireworks, portable generators, and metal detectors are prohibited, one camping unit is allowed per camp pad, and fires are restricted to designated areas. At Agricenter RV Park, sites include 30- and 50-amp service, sewer, water, showers, and laundry. Sites are level and interior roads are paved. Pets must be leashed, and quiet hours run overnight.
