Campgrounds and RV parks near Tiptonville, TN

Tiptonville sits on the southern shore of Reelfoot Lake in the northwest corner of Tennessee, close to the Kentucky border and roughly a two-hour drive north of Memphis. The lake is a shallow, flooded cypress forest created by the New Madrid earthquakes of 1811 and 1812, and it anchors nearly all of the camping and recreation in the area. Most RV travelers base themselves inside Reelfoot Lake State Park or at a handful of private campgrounds strung along Highways 21 and 22. Reelfoot Lake State Park operates two campgrounds: the South - Reelfoot Lake State Park campground with 86 paved sites offering 20/30/50-amp electric and water hookups, and the smaller Airpark North - Reelfoot Lake State Park with 14 RV sites on 30-amp electric and water, plus primitive tent sites. Sportsmans Resort and Corner Storage and RV Hook-Ups provide additional private hookup options near the lake, and Century Casino and RV Park adds an RV option paired with on-site gaming. The area is compact and rural, so most trips revolve around the water, the wildlife refuge, and the small lakeside communities of Tiptonville and Samburg.

Sites at South - Reelfoot Lake State Park and Airpark North - Reelfoot Lake State Park are booked through the Tennessee State Parks reservation system at reserve.tnstateparks.com. Booking online or by phone up to a year in advance is straightforward, and the South campground fills fast in April and May, so reserve well ahead. Private options such as Sportsmans Resort, Century Casino and RV Park, and Corner Storage and RV Hook-Ups are typically booked directly with the property; call ahead during peak fishing months and Eagle Fest weekends in early February.
