Campgrounds and RV parks near Falcon Mesa, TX

Falcon Mesa sits in far South Texas along the Rio Grande, within reach of Falcon International Reservoir, a large binational lake on the Texas-Mexico border. Falcon Lake is a reservoir on the Rio Grande about 40 miles southeast of Laredo, bounded by Starr and Zapata Counties on the Texas side and Tamaulipas on the Mexican side. The surrounding country is mesquite and cenizo brushland, wide open sky, and the water and boating access that draw most RV travelers to this corner of the state. Campground options range from full-service private parks to state-park sites with a mix of hookups. Amigo Inn and RV Park, Lakefront Lodge, and Oso Blanco Motel and RV Park are the closest private options, useful for travelers who want laundry, showers, and quick check-in. Falcon State Park offers pull-through campsites, half with water and electricity and half with full hookups, non-reservable water-only sites, and screened shelters or cabins. Lake Casa Blanca International State Park sits about an hour north in Laredo with additional lakeside camping. This is a winter-Texan region: many RVers arrive between November and March to escape northern cold, so weekend sites at the state parks can fill quickly during that stretch.

Sites at Falcon State Park and Lake Casa Blanca International State Park are booked through the Texas State Parks reservation system. Most overnight camping or lodging reservations may be reserved up to five months in advance, and the five-month reservation window opens at 8 a.m. Water-only sites at Falcon State Park are non-reservable and operate first come, first served. Both parks often reach capacity, and TPWD recommends reservations for both camping and day use; passes can be reserved online or by calling the customer service center before a visit. Private options such as Amigo Inn and RV Park, Lakefront Lodge, and Oso Blanco Motel and RV Park are booked directly with the property and often accommodate monthly winter-Texan stays.
