Campgrounds and RV parks near Pineland, TX

Pineland sits in the Piney Woods of deep East Texas, within easy reach of Sam Rayburn Reservoir, the largest man-made lake contained entirely within Texas at more than 114,000 surface acres. The reservoir is fed by the Angelina River, a major tributary of the Neches, and is hemmed in by the Angelina and Sabine National Forests, giving RV travelers a mix of shaded forest sites and open lakefront campgrounds a short drive from town. Most campgrounds in the area are clustered around the north, east, and south shores of the lake. Options range from full-hookup private parks such as Brookeland / Lake Sam Rayburn KOA Holiday, Blessing Trails RV Park, and Rayburn RV Hideout, to marina-based sites at Powell Park Marina and Sam Rayburn Marina Resort. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers parks nearby, including Rayburn Park and San Augustine Park, add water-and-electric sites managed through the federal system. The result is a destination that works for anglers, families, and long-weekend RVers. Boat ramps, swim beaches, and shaded pull-throughs are common, and Pineland itself serves as a fuel and grocery stop before heading to the water.

Corps of Engineers campgrounds around Sam Rayburn, including Rayburn Park and San Augustine Park, are reserved through Recreation.gov or by phone at 1-877-444-6777. The Sam Rayburn Project Office no longer accepts cash payments at USACE-operated campgrounds or boat ramps, so plan to pay by card. Rayburn Park is open year-round, while some parks such as Twin Dikes operate from March 1 through the Labor Day weekend. Private parks such as Brookeland / Lake Sam Rayburn KOA Holiday, Blessing Trails RV Park, Rayburn RV Hideout, and marina-based sites including Powell Park Marina and Sam Rayburn Marina Resort book directly through their own websites or phone lines. For spring bass-tournament weekends and summer holidays, reserve well ahead.
