Campgrounds and RV parks near Blackstone, VA

Blackstone sits in Virginia's Piedmont region, roughly an hour southwest of Richmond and within easy reach of several lake and rural campgrounds. The area suits RV travelers looking for quiet, tree-shaded sites rather than resort-style destinations, with state park camping as the anchor option and a handful of privately run parks filling in the gaps. The closest public option is Twin Lakes State Park, a 548-acre park in the Piedmont with 33 campsites and cabin rentals. Each campsite has water and electric hookups with 20 and 30-amp outlets, a fire ring, and a picnic table. There are no sewer hookups at sites, but a dump station is available on site. Nearby private options include Amelia Family Campground, Cozy Acres Campground RV Resort, Picture Lake Campground, and Camptown Campground, which caters specifically to motorhomes. Most sites in this corridor are wooded and level enough for typical Class C and travel-trailer rigs, though larger Class A motorhomes should confirm site length and turning access before booking, especially at smaller private parks.

Twin Lakes State Park is reserved through the Virginia State Parks reservation system at reservevaparks.com or by calling 800-933-PARK (7275). Campsites and cabins can be booked up to 11 months in advance, and stays are limited to 14 nights within a 30-day period. Booking as early as possible is recommended for summer weekends, and site-specific reservations are available for an added fee. Amelia Family Campground, Cozy Acres Campground RV Resort, Picture Lake Campground, and Camptown Campground are booked directly with each park by phone or through their own websites. Private parks in this region often require a deposit at booking and enforce their own cancellation windows. When reserving, confirm rig length, slide clearance, hookup type (20, 30, or 50 amp), and whether sewer is at the site or dump-station only. Pet policies and quiet hours vary by park.
