How to book campgrounds near Motley
State park sites use a central reservation system. Reservations at Smith Mountain Lake State Park are accepted up to 11 months in advance via reservevaparks.com or 1-800-933-PARK. Site-specific bookings are recommended if a particular length or hookup type matters, since the 50-site campground is divided between 26 primitive tent-only sites and 24 sites with water and 20/30-amp electric hookups, and the park accommodates RVs up to 50 feet, though not all sites support that length.

Bring leveling blocks, insect repellent for summer evenings, and a plan for firewood, which is often sold on site to prevent pest transfer.
