Campgrounds near Bothell East
Bothell East sits in the north-end Seattle suburbs at the edge of King and Snohomish counties, with quick access to I-405, I-5, and SR-522. The area works well as an RV base for travelers who want to visit Seattle and Bellevue without crossing the Lake Washington bridges, and it puts the Cascades, Snoqualmie Falls, and the Puget Sound waterfront within easy day-trip range.
Private RV parks dominate the immediate area. Lake Pleasant RV Park, just off the Bothell Everett Highway, is the closest full-service option and offers full hookups with 30 and 50 amp service, wooded hiking trails, and catch-and-release fishing ponds on site. Maple Grove RV Resort and Lakeside RV Park provide additional choices nearby, while Trailer Inns RV Park sits closer to the Bellevue and Eastside corridor.
For a lakefront experience, Vasa Park Resort on the western shore of Lake Sammamish offers RV sites with beach access, a boat launch, and partial or full hookups. Together these parks cover most trip styles, from one-night transit stops on the way to Mount Rainier or the San Juans to longer family stays focused on the Seattle metro area.
Things to do near Bothell East
From a Bothell East base, downtown Seattle is roughly a 30-minute drive south, putting Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, the waterfront, and the Museum of Pop Culture within easy reach. Bellevue, Kirkland, and Redmond add shopping, lakeside parks, and family attractions like KidsQuest Children's Museum.
Outdoor options are close in every direction. The Burke-Gilman and Sammamish River trails run through Bothell for cycling and walks, Lake Sammamish State Park offers swimming beaches and paddling, and Vasa Park Resort provides direct Lake Sammamish access with kayak and paddleboard rentals.
Day trips include Snoqualmie Falls and the Boeing Future of Flight tour in Everett, both under an hour away. Mount Rainier, Olympic, and North Cascades national parks are all reachable as longer day or overnight excursions, with reservation systems managed through Recreation.gov.

Summers in the Bothell area are short, comfortable, and partly cloudy, while winters are cool, wet, and mostly cloudy. The dry season runs from roughly late June through early September and is the prime window for RV travel, with long daylight hours, mild evenings, and very little rain. Summer weekends fill the nearby private RV parks quickly, and Washington State Park campgrounds across the region routinely book to capacity months ahead.
Spring and fall are useful shoulder seasons. Wildflowers, lower midweek demand, and lighter traffic on I-5 and I-405 are the trade-off for a higher chance of showers. November is typically the wettest month in the Bothell area, averaging well over 150 mm of precipitation.
Winter stays are workable for self-contained rigs. Snow is occasional but usually brief at low elevations, and several private parks in the area accept monthly stays during the off-peak months. Mountain passes east of the metro can close or require chains during storms, so check WSDOT before heading to the Cascades.

How to book campgrounds near Bothell East
The campgrounds closest to Bothell East are private and book directly. Lake Pleasant RV Park, Maple Grove RV Resort, Lakeside RV Park, and Trailer Inns RV Park each take reservations through their own websites or by phone. Vasa Park Resort manages short-term reservations through Campspot and handles long-term stays by request through its office. For summer weekends and holidays, plan on booking these parks several weeks to a few months out.
For state-managed campgrounds in the broader region, reservations run through washington.goingtocamp.com. Washington State Parks reservations can be made up to nine months in advance of the first date of your trip, and campsite reservations can be made until 2 p.m. on your arrival date. Federal sites at Mount Rainier, Olympic, and the surrounding national forests use Recreation.gov, typically with a six-month booking window.
What to expect
Most RV parks near Bothell East are suburban in character rather than wilderness campgrounds. Expect paved or gravel sites, full or partial hookups with 30 and 50 amp service, on-site laundry, Wi-Fi, and easy access to grocery stores, gas, and restaurants within a short drive. Despite proximity to urban areas, several of the parks maintain a wooded, pond-side feel with hiking loops and landscaping between sites.
Traffic is the main planning factor. I-405 and I-5 both back up heavily during weekday commutes and on summer Fridays and Sundays, so arrivals and departures are smoother midday or midweek. Cell service is reliable throughout the area.
Many private parks limit stay length during peak season and shift to monthly rates in the off-season, so confirm stay policies when booking if you plan to settle in for more than a couple of weeks.
