Campgrounds and RV parks near Bothell West, WA

Day trips from a Bothell West basecamp cover most of greater Seattle. Downtown attractions like Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, and the waterfront are roughly 30 minutes south by car or bus, and staying north of Lake Washington avoids the bridge tolls that come with parks on the east side. The Burke-Gilman Trail runs along the north shore of Lake Washington and is popular for cycling and walking. East of Bothell, Lake Sammamish State Park offers swimming beaches and picnic areas, and Snoqualmie Falls is about 40 minutes out. Guests at Lake Pleasant RV Park can fish the on-site catch-and-release ponds and use the wooded hiking trails without leaving the park, and Vasa Park Resort guests get direct Lake Sammamish access for swimming and paddling.

The Puget Sound lowlands have a mild marine climate with cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers. Peak RV season runs from late June through early September, when rain is least frequent and daytime highs sit comfortably in the 70s Fahrenheit. Private parks near Bothell book up well in advance for summer weekends, and at Lake Pleasant RV Park, guests are limited to 14-day stays per month from May 1 to Labor Day, with seasonal monthly stays offered from early September through May 1. Shoulder seasons in April, May, September, and October bring cooler temperatures, more rain, and far better site availability. The transition to monthly stays in fall through spring can affect nightly availability for short trips at some private parks. Winter camping is possible at the year-round private parks listed here, but expect frequent rain, occasional lowland snow, and shorter daylight hours. Roofed accommodations at Washington State Parks require a minimum of two consecutive nights from May 15 to September 15, so plan stays at state-park cabins or yurts accordingly during peak season.

Campgrounds in the Bothell area are suburban in character rather than wilderness. Expect paved or graveled pads, full or partial hookups at the private parks, and quick access to grocery stores, restaurants, and fuel within a few minutes' drive. Cell service and Wi-Fi are generally reliable across the listed parks. Lake Pleasant RV Park offers 184 back-in and pull-thru sites with picnic tables, paved sites and roads, full hookups with 30/50-amp service, free local cable, five private shower houses, on-site propane, and is pet-friendly. Vasa Park Resort offers a lakeside setting with beach access and event spaces that can make weekends busier than a typical campground. Sites at the smaller parks tend to be tighter than rural Washington campgrounds, so confirm rig length and slide clearance when booking. The Bothell area has easy I-405 and I-5 access, which means some highway noise at parks closer to the interchanges. Pets are generally welcome with leash rules at the listed parks.
