Campgrounds and RV parks near Clearview, WA

Water recreation drives most trips. Flowing Lake allows motorized watercraft and water skiing, with a public boat launch, swimming beach, and fishing dock at Leckie's Beach. Wenberg County Park on Lake Goodwin adds picnicking, sunbathing, boating, and a swim area along freshwater shoreline with a two-lane concrete boat launch, which makes it a straightforward day trip for families. Inland, Highway 2 climbs toward Stevens Pass and the Cascade foothills for hiking, waterfall stops, and river float trips on the Skykomish. Westward, the Everett waterfront, Mukilteo ferry, and Puget Sound beaches offer whale-watching tours, tide-pooling, and seafood stops. Closer to camp, Clearview sits within an easy drive of Snohomish's antique district, the Boeing Future of Flight tour in Mukilteo, and the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, useful for rainy afternoons or family days off the road.

The prime RV window runs from late June through early September, when Puget Sound lowlands turn dry and mild. Everett has a distinct dry season from July to August, and November is the wettest month. Days are long, lakes are warm enough for swimming, and Cascade trailheads are typically snow-free by early July. Shoulder seasons work well for renters with flexibility. Spring brings green hillsides and quieter campgrounds, but expect frequent rain and cool nights. Fall delivers foliage along the river valleys and salmon runs, though many county loops start winterizing after Labor Day. Snohomish County Parks winterization typically occurs around the second or third week of October and ends around the end of March, with water shut off at partial and full utility campsites to prevent freezing. Winter camping is possible but limited. At Flowing Lake, non-utility sites and day-use restrooms close, and campground water is shut off from mid-October through mid-April, though campground restrooms stay open year-round. The Evergreen State Fairgrounds RV Park operates April 1 through October 31, excluding Fair time. Self-contained rigs have the easiest time in the off-season.

Sites in the area vary widely. Private RV parks near Clearview tend to have paved or gravel pads, closely spaced sites, full hookups, and easy access for larger motorhomes. County parks offer more space and tree cover but often mix partial-utility and non-utility sites in the same loop, and Flowing Lake has no septic service, with the nearest dump station at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds RV Park. Rig length matters. Due to road limitations at Flowing Lake, 5th wheels longer than 35 feet are not allowed, and several county loops have narrow, winding roads. Confirm maximum site length before booking a larger unit. Expect damp ground and mossy tree cover most of the year, and pack layers even in summer, as evenings cool quickly. Check park alerts and burn restrictions before lighting any fires, since summer fire bans are common across the region.
