Camping near Silver Firs
Silver Firs is a suburban community in Snohomish County, Washington, northeast of Mill Creek and roughly 25 miles north of Seattle. The area sits between Interstate 5 and Highway 9, giving RV travelers straightforward access to Everett, Bothell, and the Cascade foothills without crossing Lake Washington bridges or paying tolls.
There are no campgrounds inside Silver Firs itself, but several private RV parks operate within a short drive. Lake Pleasant RV Park in Bothell sits on the Bothell-Everett Highway and offers full-hookup sites, wooded trails, and catch-and-release fishing ponds. Maple Grove RV Resort, Lakeside RV Park, Thunderbird RV and Camping Resort, and Emerald Springs RV Park round out the closest options, all within roughly an hour of Silver Firs.
For public-land camping, the Washington State Parks system runs the nearest developed campgrounds. Reservable sites and hookup availability vary by park, and demand climbs sharply between late spring and Labor Day. Most trips use a private RV park near Silver Firs as a base and add day trips to nearby state parks or Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest land.
Things to do around Silver Firs
The Snohomish County area supports a mix of outdoor and family activities. Willis Tucker Community Park in neighboring Snohomish has trails, a playground, and open lawns. Downtown Snohomish, about fifteen minutes east, is a walkable historic district with restaurants and antique shops. Everett offers the Boeing Future of Flight tour, the Funko headquarters store, and the Everett waterfront.
For day trips, Interstate 5 and Highway 2 lead to the Cascades, including trailheads in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. On-site fishing is available at Lake Pleasant RV Park, and paved bike routes such as the Centennial Trail run through eastern Snohomish County. Families with kids often pair a night at an RV park with a Seattle day trip using the park-and-ride bus network.

The RV-friendly window around Silver Firs runs roughly late April through early October. July and August are the driest, warmest months, with long daylight and typical highs in the low 70s Fahrenheit. This is also when private parks and Washington State Park sites fill fastest, particularly around Independence Day and Labor Day weekends.
Spring is cool and wet, but sites open up and lower-elevation trails are usable by late April. Fall shoulder season, September through mid-October, often delivers the best combination of open availability, mild weather, and fall color in the foothills. Wildfire smoke can drift into the region in late summer, so checking air-quality reports before travel is worthwhile.
Winter camping is possible at private RV parks that stay open year-round, including Lake Pleasant RV Park, but expect steady rain, short days, and occasional lowland snow. Higher-elevation Forest Service campgrounds close for the season.

What to expect at Silver Firs campgrounds

Full hookups, laundry, Wi-Fi, and on-site propane are common. Sites can be close together with limited privacy between rigs.
Roads into the area are standard suburban arterials off Interstate 5, easy for larger rigs but subject to weekday commuter traffic. Grocery stores, big-box retail, and restaurants are within a few minutes of every listed park.
Wildlife around the ponds and greenbelts includes waterfowl, deer, and occasional coyotes, so pets should be leashed and supervised. Cell coverage is strong throughout the corridor, and cellular data is a reliable backup to park Wi-Fi.

Every RVezy host gives a walkthrough at pickup covering the propane, water, generator, slide-outs, and dump procedure, and they're a text message away during your trip. Add 24/7 roadside assistance and RVezy customer support, and there's always someone in your corner. For first time renting an RV near Silver Firs, start with a travel trailer or Class C motorhome, both easier to drive than a Class A, and pick a nearby campground like Flowing Lake for night one so you can settle in before bigger adventures. Most renters tell us the second day feels totally natural.

For mechanical issues, call the roadside number provided at booking, and RVezy support is available around the clock for anything bigger. help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my RV rental to Canada or Oregon on a road trip from Silver Firs?
Yes, and you've got incredible options. An RV road trip from Silver Firs into Oregon (Crater Lake, the coast, Bend) is straightforward, just confirm interstate travel with your host at booking. Cross-border trips into British Columbia, Vancouver is only about 140 miles north, are often allowed by RVezy hosts, but you'll need to confirm with the host and verify insurance coverage extends to Canada before crossing. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental due to insurance restrictions. Pro tip: bring your passport, vehicle registration, and a written permission letter from the host for the border, this little prep step saves you stress at the Peace Arch crossing.
cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/know-before-you-goWhat kind of fuel mileage and gas budget should I plan for?
You can budget with confidence. Most Class C motorhomes around Silver Firs average 8-12 miles per gallon, Class B campervans get a much friendlier 16-20 MPG, and a travel trailer towed behind your truck or SUV brings your tow vehicle down to roughly 10-14 MPG. Washington gas prices typically run higher than the national average, often $4.20-$4.80 per gallon in Snohomish County, so plan around that. Pro tip: Costco in Lynnwood and the Quil Ceda Village fuel station near Tulalip usually have the lowest prices in the area, perfect to top off before heading toward the Cascades or up I-5 toward Bellingham.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground for my Silver Firs RV trip?
Sooner than you think, and earlier is always better. Washington State Parks open reservations nine months in advance through their reservation system, and popular spots like Deception Pass, Lake Wenatchee, and Wallace Falls fill up the day the window opens for July and August. Snohomish County parks (Flowing Lake, Kayak Point, Wenberg) book 6-9 months out for summer weekends. For a family RV trip Silver Firs in shoulder season, 4-6 weeks is usually plenty. Pro tip: midweek arrivals (Sunday-Wednesday) often have great availability even in peak summer, and Forest Service campgrounds on Recreation.gov release sites on a 6-month rolling window.

You will find the roads RV-friendly once you know the lay of the land. Silver Firs sits just off State Route 9 and the Bothell-Everett Highway, with I-5, I-405, and US-2 all within about 15 minutes for easy escapes. Avoid weekday rush hour (7-9 AM and 3-7 PM) on I-405 and I-5 through Lynnwood. Heading east on US-2 to Stevens Pass or the Mountain Loop Highway, expect winding two-lane roads with stunning views, take it slow with a larger rig. In winter, carry chains November through April for mountain passes per WSDOT requirements. Pro tip: check the WSDOT Real-Time Travel Map before you leave.
wsdot.wa.gov/travel/real-time-travelWhat amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Silver Firs?
You'll have everything you need. Private RV parks like Lake Pleasant RV Park and Cedar Grove Shores RV Park offer full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50-amp electric), Wi-Fi, laundry, and showers. Washington State Parks (Wallace Falls, Wenberg) typically have water and electric at most sites with a centralized dump station, plus flush toilets and hot showers. Forest Service campgrounds on the Mountain Loop are more rustic, vault toilets, no hookups, but stunning settings. Need to dump tanks or refill fresh water? Smokey Point Rest Area on I-5 and most Washington state park campgrounds have free dump stations. Pro tip: arrive with full propane and fresh water, services thin out as you head east into the Cascades.
parks.wa.gov/know-before-you-go/camping/rv-campingWhat's typically included inside an RV rental in Silver Firs?
You're moving into a fully equipped home on wheels. Most motorhome rental Silver Firs listings come with a queen or king bed, full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink, cookware), bathroom with toilet and shower, dining area that converts to extra sleeping space, air conditioning, propane furnace, and seatbelted seats for everyone traveling. Many hosts include linens, towels, kitchenware, outdoor chairs, and a basic BBQ. Solar panels, generators, and onboard Wi-Fi or cell boosters are common add-ons (great for North Cascades trips where cell service drops). Pro tip: scroll a listing's amenity icons carefully, and message the host if you need a specific item like a Pack 'n Play, high chair, or bike rack.
dol.wa.gov/vehicles-and-boats/recreational-vehiclesWhat add-ons and pickup options should I know about?
You can customize the trip exactly how you want it. Popular RVezy add-ons in the Silver Firs area include generator use ($5-$15/night), bedding and kitchen kits ($25-$75 flat), bike racks, kayaks, propane refills, dump-station service at return, and pet cleaning fees if you're bringing a dog. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Silver Firs, Mill Creek, Bothell, or Everett, with delivery available from many hosts (often free within 25 miles, then per-mile beyond). Mileage policies vary, so check the listing. Pro tip: book add-ons during checkout rather than at pickup, it locks in the price and ensures the host has everything packed and ready to go.
dol.wa.gov/vehicles-and-boatsHow does payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in Silver Firs?
Payment is simple and transparent. You pay the full booking total through RVezy at checkout using a credit or debit card, no cash to the host. A refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) is pre-authorized on your card before pickup and released after your trip if there is no damage or policy violations. The deposit amount is shown on every listing before you book, so there are no surprises. Pro tip: do a quick walk-around video with your host at pickup and again at return, it is the single best way to avoid deposit disputes and end your Silver Firs RV trip on a high note.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhere can I park an RV in Silver Firs overnight if I'm not at a campground?
You have a few solid options. In Washington, you can legally park overnight at state-run rest areas for up to 8 hours in any 24-hour period (no slide-outs, awnings, or outdoor setup, that counts as camping). The nearest rest stops to Silver Firs are Smokey Point on I-5 northbound near Arlington and Silver Lake on I-5 near Everett. Some local businesses (Cabela's in Tulalip, certain Walmarts) allow overnight RV parking with manager permission, always ask first. Residential street parking in Silver Firs neighborhoods has time limits, so check signs. Pro tip: for any stay over 8 hours, book a real campground, you'll sleep better and your trip will feel like a vacation rather than a layover.
