Campgrounds and RV parks near West Liberty, WV

West Liberty sits in Ohio County in West Virginia's Northern Panhandle, roughly a fifteen-minute drive from Wheeling and within easy reach of the Ohio River valley. The town is small, but the surrounding hills hold a mix of private RV parks, a large municipal park with hookups, and a Pennsylvania state park just across the border. Interstate 70 runs a few miles south, which makes the area an easy stop for RVers moving between Pittsburgh and Columbus. Closest options for RV travelers include Ernies Acres Campground in Valley Grove, Hotel RV West Alexander just across the Pennsylvania line, and Big Gs RV Campground to the south. For a more resort-style stay, Grand Vue Park sits in the hills of Moundsville, roughly 10 miles from Wheeling, with 40 full hook-up sites offering 30 and 50-amp electric service, sewage, and water. Across the state line, Ryerson Station State Park adds a public-land option with a 35-site tent and trailer campground open year round, with many sites offering electric and a select few offering full-hookup service.

Private parks in the area take reservations directly. Grand Vue Park uses an online booking system through its park website, and smaller sites like Ernies Acres Campground, Hotel RV West Alexander, and Big Gs RV Campground are typically booked by phone or through their own sites. Monthly and extended-stay rates are available at several of the private parks, which is useful for work travelers. Ryerson Station State Park is on the Pennsylvania DCNR system. Reservations can be made online or by calling toll-free 888-PA-PARKS (888-727-2757), from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday to Saturday. Full-hookup and modern electric sites can be reserved for today and up to 11 months in advance, so peak summer weekends should be locked in early.
