Campgrounds and RV parks near Iron Ridge, WI

Iron Ridge sits in Dodge County in southeast Wisconsin, just south of Mayville and within a short drive of Horicon Marsh, one of the largest freshwater marshes in the United States and a key rest stop for migrating ducks and Canada geese. The village itself is small, but it functions as a practical base for RV travelers touring the marsh, the Rock River corridor, and the glacial terrain of the Kettle Moraine State Forest to the east. Campground options within roughly 30 minutes range from marsh-adjacent private parks to lakeside family campgrounds. The Playful Goose Campground of the Horicon Marsh sits along the Rock River near the renowned Horicon Marsh. Fairgrounds RV Park, Timber Trail Campground, and Breezy Hill Campground round out closer-in private options, while Lake Lenwood Beach and Campground provides a lakefront alternative south toward West Bend. Public lands add depth to the area. The northern two-thirds of Horicon Marsh is managed federally by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as Horicon National Wildlife Refuge, and the southern third is managed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as Horicon Marsh State Wildlife Area. Neither unit offers camping, so overnight stays happen at nearby private and county campgrounds.
