Campgrounds and RV parks near North Prairie, WI

North Prairie sits in western Waukesha County, roughly a half-hour drive from Milwaukee and within easy reach of Wisconsin's kettle-moraine lake country. RV travelers use the village as a base for the 22,000-acre Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest, which is interlaced with more than 100 miles of mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking and nature trails, and offers paddling, boating, swimming, fishing, and hunting. The Southern Unit extends from Dousman to near Whitewater, placing state-forest trailheads within a short drive of most private campgrounds in the area. Private parks handle most of the RV traffic. Country View Campground and Circle K Campground are the closest options to the village itself, while Bark River Campground and Resort and Scenic Ridge Campground sit slightly further west toward Delavan and Whitewater. Snug Harbor Inn Campground on Turtle Lake adds a lakefront option south of town. The area suits families that want hookups and amenities on private ground, with day trips into public forests, lakes, and Ice Age Trail segments nearby.
