Campgrounds and RV parks near Potter Lake, WI

Potter Lake is a small census-designated place in the town of East Troy, Walworth County, in southeast Wisconsin. The lake itself covers about 155 acres and sits within easy driving distance of the Lake Geneva resort corridor, the Kettle Moraine State Forest, and the Illinois border. RV renters have a mix of options within roughly 30 minutes of Potter Lake. Private parks such as Country View Campground, Coachmans Terrace Park, and Circle K Campground provide hookup sites and family-oriented amenities. For public land, Big Foot Beach State Park on the shore of Geneva Lake and Richard Bong State Recreation Area near Kansasville are the two closest state properties, and both offer developed campgrounds. The area suits families looking to combine a lake stay with day trips into Lake Geneva, East Troy, or the trails and beaches of the surrounding state parks. Sites tend to book heavily on summer weekends, so planning ahead matters.

Wisconsin state park campsites at Big Foot Beach State Park and Richard Bong State Recreation Area are reserved through the Wisconsin State Park reservation system on the Going to Camp platform or by calling 1-888-947-2757. Camping reservations can be made for the same day of arrival or up to 11 months before the planned occupancy date. All motor vehicles stopping in state parks, forests or recreation areas must have a vehicle admission pass in addition to the campsite fee. All state parks, southern forests and state recreation areas are completely reservable, with no first-come, first-served campsites available at these properties. Popular electric sites at both parks book out months in advance for summer weekends. Private parks such as Country View Campground, Coachmans Terrace Park, and Circle K Campground handle their own reservations directly through the operator. For summer weekends, book several months out; midweek and shoulder-season stays are usually easier to secure.
