Campgrounds and RV parks near Theresa, WI

Theresa is a small village in Dodge County, southeastern Wisconsin, positioned between Fond du Lac to the north and West Bend to the south. It sits on the East Branch of the Rock River at the edge of the Theresa Marsh Wildlife Area, a state property of roughly 5,500 acres plus 300 acres of easements that includes emergent marsh and bottomland hardwood forest along the river. The village is also within a short drive of the much larger Horicon Marsh, one of the biggest freshwater cattail marshes in the United States. RVers use Theresa as a base for marsh birding, Rock River paddling, and day trips into the Northern Kettle Moraine State Forest. The closest full-hookup options are private, family-run campgrounds spread across Dodge, Fond du Lac, and Washington counties. Theresa Marsh itself does not permit overnight camping, so lodging in the area is at private parks or nearby county and state properties. Common nearby options include Breezy Hill Campground outside Fond du Lac, The Playful Goose Campground of the Horicon Marsh on the Rock River, Timber Trail Campground and Lake Lenwood Beach and Campground near West Bend, and Fairgrounds RV Park.

Private campgrounds around Theresa handle their own reservations directly through their websites or by phone. Sites at Breezy Hill Campground, The Playful Goose Campground of the Horicon Marsh, Timber Trail Campground, Lake Lenwood Beach and Campground, and Fairgrounds RV Park are typically bookable online, with a deposit at time of booking and separate policies for weekends, holidays, and seasonal stays. For summer weekends, especially around the Fourth of July and Labor Day, plan to book eight to twelve weeks out. Sites within an hour of Oshkosh sell out even earlier during EAA AirVenture in late July. Wisconsin state parks use the Wisconsin State Park System reservation portal, which opens site bookings up to eleven months in advance, but neither Horicon nor Theresa marsh wildlife areas offer overnight camping, so plan to sleep at a nearby private or county park instead.
