Campgrounds and RV parks near Dubois, WY

Dubois sits in a high mountain valley along the Wind River in northwest Wyoming, roughly midway between Riverton and the eastern gateways to Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. The town elevation is close to 6,917 feet, and it works well as a base camp for travelers heading to either national park without paying gateway-town prices. The Wind River, the Absaroka Range, and the Wind River Range all frame the town, and Shoshone National Forest surrounds it on three sides. RV travelers have several full-hookup options in and around town. Dubois Campground sits within walking distance of the museum and city park; Dubois / Wind River KOA Holiday is riverfront with family amenities; Windhaven RV Resort and Solitude RV Park cater to big rigs along the river; and The Longhorn Ranch Lodge and RV Resort offers sites at the upper end of the valley with views toward Whiskey Mountain. Expect a small-town western feel, gravel pads, and cooler nights than most other Wyoming stops even in mid-summer.

Private RV parks in Dubois, including Windhaven RV Resort, Solitude RV Park, and The Longhorn Ranch Lodge and RV Resort, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Dubois / Wind River KOA Holiday is bookable through the KOA reservation system. Holiday weekends and rodeo Fridays require early booking, and for a July or August arrival, plan on booking two to three months out for riverfront and pull-through sites. Forest Service campgrounds around Togwotee Pass are a mix of reservable and first-come, first-served sites. Reservable sites on Recreation.gov typically open on a rolling six-month window, while Falls Campground has historically operated as first-come, first-served. All Shoshone National Forest sites are in grizzly country, so bear-proof food storage is mandatory.
