Campgrounds and RV parks near Corinne, UT

Golden Spike National Historical Park is the main draw. Visitors can stand at the Last Spike Site, tour the engine house, and watch replica Jupiter and No. 119 steam locomotives operate seasonally. The Big Fill Trail is a 1.5-mile walk along the original railroad grade, and the East and West Auto Tour routes cover several miles of preserved grade features, though trailers and larger RVs are not recommended on the West route. Willard Bay State Park offers boating, swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, and fishing for walleye, wiper, crappie, and catfish. The Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge is a short drive west and is a strong stop for birders, especially during spring and fall migration. Bald eagles concentrate around Willard Bay in winter.

Peak RV season runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day, when Willard Bay State Park fills quickly on weekends and holidays. Golden Spike's steam locomotive demonstrations typically run daily from May 1 through mid-October, aligning with the busiest visitation, and the park also hosts winter steam demonstrations around the end of December. Spring brings the heaviest precipitation of the year, with April the wettest month. Reservoir levels rise, wildflowers bloom in the foothills, and bird migration peaks at the Bear River Refuge. The South Marina at Willard Bay is open April through October, while sites at the North Marina area remain accessible year-round. Summer is hot and dry, and Utah frequently enters fire restrictions. Willard Bay has issued elevated fire restrictions in recent seasons, restricting open fires, charcoal, and similar ignition sources. Winter camping is limited mostly to private RV parks with hookups; state park camping activity slows sharply after October.

The drive from Interstate 15 to Golden Spike covers about 32 miles from Brigham City on paved two-lane highway through Corinne. Fuel, groceries, and dump stations are easiest to find in Brigham City. Corinne itself has a small convenience store and limited services, so top up before heading west toward Promontory. Private RV parks near Willard and Brigham City typically offer full hookups, showers, and laundry. Willard Peak Campground is RV-only and does not accept tents. Willow Creek at Willard Bay has shaded sites, but expect mosquitoes in warmer months and bring repellent. The park is sprayed for mosquito abatement during summer. Cell coverage is generally good along the I-15 corridor and around Willard Bay but weakens west of Corinne toward Promontory. Park gates at Willard Bay close from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and pets must be leashed.
