2005 Lexington - Forester Forester
4x4 Thunder Camper — Rare 22-Foot Off-Road Motorhome
The 4x4 Thunder Camper is a very unique 22-foot Forest River Lexington four-wheel-drive motorhome that combines rugged capability with the comfort and convenience of a luxury Class C RV.
What makes this RV special is its rare four-wheel-drive setup. Most motorhomes are built only for pavement and standard campgrounds, but this RV was built with a much more rugged and capable platform. Combined with dual rear wheels, heavy-duty construction, safari-style looks, and compact size, it stands out immediately from the average rental motorhome.
At only 22 feet long, this RV is much easier to drive, maneuver, park, and handle than larger motorhomes. It is compact enough for tighter campsites, parking areas, smaller roads, and easier overall driving while still giving you the comforts and features of a larger RV.
This motorhome is very solidly built and drives beautifully. It has super low mileage, brand-new tires, regular servicing and maintenance, and has been stored indoors. The interior is extremely clean, low-use, and feels virtually brand new compared to many older rental RVs.
Inside, the layout is spacious, comfortable, and practical.
Features include:
Rare four-wheel-drive drivetrain
Compact 22-foot size
Sleeps up to 4 comfortably
Four-person dinette that converts into a bed
Full-size couch
Two front captain bucket seats
Full bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower
Full working kitchen
Pots and pans included
Plates, cups, glasses, and kitchen basics included
Plenty of charging ports throughout
Google CarPlay stereo/radio system
Cold A/C and heating system
Roof storage rack for additional luggage and gear
Rear ladder for easy access to load the top of the motorhome
Heavy-duty dual rear wheels
Trailer receiver hitch
Large exterior storage compartments
4,000-watt Onan generator
Shore power hookup
Standard 15-amp plug capability for lighter/basic use
Solar panel system to help maintain house batteries
New to the rental fleet
Indoor stored
Regularly serviced and maintained
We also include many of the little extras that travelers often forget. The RV comes stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, and general kitchen basics to help make your trip easier and more comfortable from day one.
Additionally, we keep some basic emergency and utility items onboard including:
Jumper cables
Basic hand tools
Duct tape
Zip ties
Minor repair supplies
Upon request, we may also be able to provide:
Heavy-duty bike rack
Towing hitch setup
Additional utility gear
One of the biggest advantages of this RV is how comfortable and manageable it feels while driving. Unlike oversized motorhomes that can feel stressful and difficult to maneuver, this RV feels much more controlled and confidence-inspiring while still giving you the amenities needed for comfortable travel.
The rooftop storage rack provides additional room for luggage, gear, camping supplies, or adventure equipment. The rear ladder allows easy access to the roof rack for loading and unloading gear.
Important power information:
This RV is not designed for unlimited off-grid living. The solar system is mainly intended to help maintain and support the house batteries for lighter electrical use and basic systems. Larger appliances such as the air conditioner, water heater, microwave, and other heavy electrical loads require generator power or 30-amp campground/shore power.
The RV can also plug into a standard 15-amp household outlet for lighter/basic use, but full power operation requires either the onboard generator or proper 30-amp service.
If you are looking for a unique, rugged, compact, adventure-ready motorhome that is clean, dependable, easy to drive, and very different from the average RV rental, the 4x4 Thunder Camper delivers an experience most rentals simply cannot match.
