Julie and her husband were absolutely lovely to rent from. They were extremely reliable in terms of communication. The RV itself was even more spacious in real life than it seemed in the photos! As a first time RV renter/user, Julie and her husband made it feel much less intimidating because of their timely communication. Would highly recommend renting from them to anyone!

Tim and Cindy’s RV is IMMACULATE! It was even better and cuter than the photos and super thankful we were able to rent it for a weekend of camping in the Poconos. Very thorough walk through of how to use the RV, tips, tricks and super responsive to questions if we needed something. Our entire group said all the beds (including the pull outs) were very comfortable. It’s well stocked with everything we needed for our weekend away. I would definitely rent from them again if they let me! I think we’re hooked on RV’s now. ps thanks for letting all of us play with the pups while we loaded up our gear and for the memories you allowed us to create. Much love!

What do I need to rent an RV in Scranton?

To rent an RV in Scranton you need to be at least 25, hold a full unrestricted driver license valid for the entire rental period, and complete RVezy approved-driver steps for anyone who will operate the RV (this still applies on delivered stays). Verification runs inside the platform with clear prompts, so you are not hunting for extra paperwork at pickup. What protection comes with my Scranton RV rental?

Every RV rental in Scranton booked through RVezy includes liability coverage that meets state minimums, and you choose a protection plan at checkout to cap eligible physical damage costs on the road. U.S. plans include 24-hour roadside assistance through Access Roadside, with towing limits and other benefits scaling by plan level, so you can match coverage to your comfort level. RVezy lists four plan tiers, Basic through Premium, and a Stationary option for delivered stays, each spelled out clearly before you confirm. Read the plan comparison while you book, then roll out from Scranton knowing exactly what is covered before you drive.

What is the cancellation policy for RVezy RV rentals in Scranton?

RVezy applies the same guest cancellation rules across every listing, so you are not decoding a different policy for each Scranton host. Timing drives refunds: cancel more than 30 days before departure and 100 percent of your rental amount is returned; cancel between 30 and 8 days out and roughly half the rental amount may be retained; cancel 7 days or less before the trip and the full rental amount is typically forfeited. Regardless of when you cancel, protection plan fees, delivery fees, preparation fees, and add-ons are always refunded in full. A 24-hour grace period applies if you cancel within 24 hours of the host accepting your booking, as long as the trip start is still more than 24 hours away. If the host cancels, you receive a full refund. Review the guest cancellation article in Help before you confirm so the numbers match your Scranton trip budget.

Can I get the RV delivered to my campground or driveway in Scranton?

Yes: RV delivery Scranton is a popular choice, especially for first-timers or fly-in guests who want to skip towing entirely. Turn on the delivery filter on RVezy, enter your campground address, event site, or home driveway, and hosts who offer delivery will show their fee and distance range. On delivery day the host levels the RV, connects utilities where available, and walks you through all the systems before leaving you to settle in. It is one of the easiest ways to enjoy Scranton without navigating a large rig through unfamiliar streets on day one. Most private and public campgrounds allow third-party RV delivery, so coordinate with your park when you book the site.

How far can I drive my Scranton RV rental? Are there unlimited mileage options?

Mileage is set per listing: some Scranton rentals bundle generous daily miles and others offer RV rental with unlimited mileage when the host enables that option. Each listing shows the mileage allowance clearly, so you know your range before you book. From Scranton, popular day or weekend loops run 45 to 150 miles to beaches, Pocono lakes, big-city culture in Philadelphia or New York, or mountain recreation in the Poconos; plug your exact stops into a maps app to estimate total miles before you commit. Add extra miles at checkout if needed, and you can plan an RV road trip from Scranton with a clear budget in mind.

Where can I stay overnight with an RV near Scranton?

The best campgrounds near Scranton cover a range of styles and hookup levels. Clayton Park RV Escape on Lake Henry is a full-hookup private park with pull-through sites and live weekend entertainment a short drive from Scranton. Lackawanna State Park offers electric campsites in a wooded setting ten miles north of Scranton and is open from the second Friday in April to mid-October (note: the campground is scheduled for renovation starting September 8, 2026, so confirm availability for stays near or after that date). Highland Campgrounds near Clarks Summit features a pool and seasonal May through October camping. Frances Slocum State Park is a strong pick for lake access, 10 miles of hiking trails, and 30 and 50-amp electric sites. Reserve popular weekends two to four months ahead, especially fall foliage weeks. Book a real licensed site to wake up legal, rested, and ready for the next Scranton-area adventure.

What is the best time of year for an RV trip to Scranton?

Late April through October is the sweet spot for a Scranton RV trip: NWS climate normals for the Scranton area show summer highs often in the upper 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit and January averages around 24 degrees Fahrenheit with periods well below that, so May through September feels easiest for new renters. October delivers comfortable days for hiking with crisp nights, while winter can be scenic but snowy and cold. RV camping Scranton style peaks in summer and early fall, when most private parks are fully open and campground amenities are at their best. Many private parks run seasonal schedules from May to October, so call or check online before assuming a late-season opening.

Is Scranton a good place for a first-time RV renter?

Scranton is a great market for first time renting an RV: traffic is lighter than major metros, campgrounds around the area are used to weekend guests, and RVezy hosts often do a hands-on orientation at pickup or delivery so you leave confident with every system. Use filters for instant book or delivery to reduce variables, read verified guest reviews to gauge each host's teaching style, and message hosts about hookup experience before you reserve. Every listing on RVezy shows clear photos, stated amenities, and transparent pricing in a single checkout flow, which keeps day one focused on learning the rig rather than guessing at details. A motorhome rental Scranton hosts offer through RVezy typically comes with a personal walkthrough you will not get at a traditional rental counter.
rvezy.com/how-it-works

What happens if my RV has an issue during my Scranton trip?

Start with your host: they know the RV best and can troubleshoot many issues quickly over the phone or in person. If you are stuck on the road, U.S. protection plans include 24-hour roadside assistance through Access Roadside at 1-866-227-2213 with your booking number ready, and RVezy support is available at 1-855-697-8399 for urgent matters, collisions, or host disputes. Save both numbers in your phone before you leave Scranton, keep the photos from your pre-departure inspection, and you can resolve most surprises without canceling the whole trip. RVezy hosts are real people who take pride in their rigs and want your trip to succeed, so early communication is almost always the fastest path to a fix.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protection

Can I take my Scranton RV rental out of state?

Yes: multi-state U.S. trips are common and RVezy coverage is built for travel across the United States and Canada, with standard border paperwork required if you cross north. Mexico is not covered under the commercial insurance, and a short list of high-risk or remote areas including parts of Alaska, Death Valley, Burning Man, and certain northern Canadian territories are prohibited or require RVezy approval before you go. Confirm allowed regions in your specific listing and rental agreement, map your route in a navigation app, and you can turn a Scranton pickup into a full RV road trip from Scranton across multiple states with confidence. Check that your mileage plan covers the full round-trip distance before you confirm.

How do I budget for fuel during my Scranton RV adventure?

Plan for motorhomes to average roughly 8 to 12 miles per gallon and small campervans often better than that, then multiply your planned miles by that range for a quick fuel estimate. GasBuddy is a useful same-day tool for finding the best pump prices around Scranton before you head out. A common starting budget for a typical Class C is about $30 to $50 per 100 miles driven, then adjust up or down based on your actual rig and terrain. Fill the tank near Scranton before heading toward remote trailheads so you are not searching for diesel or regular on empty back roads. Tracking fuel separately from your RV rental Pennsylvania booking total keeps your overall trip budget easy to read.

How far ahead should I book a Scranton campground and what is the best way?

For summer weekends and peak fall color, booking the best campgrounds near Scranton two to four months ahead is a safe habit. Lackawanna State Park and Frances Slocum State Park both take reservations through the Pennsylvania State Parks ReserveAmerica portal up to 11 months in advance, and both parks also accept phone reservations during published hours. Private parks like Clayton Park RV Escape and Highland Campgrounds use their own websites or phone lines, so lock in your site the same day you confirm the RV to make sure everything lines up. Weeknights typically have more availability and softer rates, which is perfect if your Scranton dates have a little flexibility.

Are there any local driving challenges or restrictions for RVs in Scranton?

Most roads into and around Scranton are manageable for larger rigs: traffic is lighter than in major coastal cities, and your RVezy host can flag any known low bridges or tight corners if you ask at pickup or delivery. Winter weather and mountain grades toward the Poconos can add slick conditions, so monitor forecasts and check PennDOT for road conditions and any chain or traction requirements when snow is expected. If you prefer zero driving stress, filter for RV delivery Scranton listings and let the host position the RV at your campsite while you arrive by car. A quick look at satellite maps along your planned route before you leave is the best way to catch clearance surprises before they happen on the road.
penndot.pa.gov/TravelInPA/Pages/default.aspx

What equipment and hookups should I expect at Scranton-area campgrounds?

Where to park an RV in Scranton depends on your hookup needs: public state park campgrounds typically offer 30 and 50-amp electric with shared water access and a dump station, while full-hookup private parks may also add sewer and WiFi on select sites. Lackawanna State Park and Frances Slocum State Park are solid state-park examples with electric hookups, and Clayton Park RV Escape on Lake Henry delivers long pull-through sites with full water, sewer, and electric when you want every utility at the pedestal. Seasonal schedules vary, especially for dump stations outside peak summer, so call the park or read your confirmation if you are arriving early or late in the season. Pack a drinking-water hose, surge protector, and a 30 to 50-amp adapter so you can match whatever the site provides.

What amenities can I expect in my Scranton RV rental?

Expect real beds, a kitchen galley, a bathroom on most drivable units, climate control, and seatbelts for every traveler, with exact floorplans and layouts shown in RVezy listing photos before you book. Many Scranton-area hosts add TVs, WiFi hotspots, generators, or outdoor kitchens to their rigs, and you can confirm all of those details in the amenities section of each listing. Use RVezy filters to narrow by must-haves such as bunk beds, pet-friendly layouts, or a specific sleeping capacity for a family RV trip Scranton style. A campervan rental Scranton guests book through RVezy can be a compact and nimble choice for couples, while a larger Class A gives families every home comfort on the road. Compare your top three listings before you commit so the floorplan matches exactly how you sleep and cook.

What are the most popular add-ons or options for Scranton RV rentals?

Popular add-ons for RV rental Pennsylvania trips include generators for state-park sites without hookups, outdoor furniture, propane fire gear, linen bundles, and fully stocked kitchen kits so the first Scranton meal is easy. Hosts may also offer flexible pickup windows, extra mileage packages, or delivery for a fully turnkey Scranton experience. Select add-ons at RVezy checkout so everything is itemized in one receipt and you arrive with the exact gear you previewed online. If something you need is not listed, send the host a message before booking: many hosts customize their offering for repeat guests or special trip needs.

How does payment and the security deposit work for a Scranton RV rental?

You pay entirely through RVezy checkout, where the total clearly breaks out rent, protection plan, delivery, prep fees, add-ons, taxes, and platform fees before you confirm. Listings that include a security deposit show the amount up front; RVezy places a temporary card authorization roughly three days before the trip starts, and that hold typically releases about seven days after your return unless a damage claim requires it. Bookings made more than 37 days before your start date can split into a 25 percent deposit now and the remaining balance charged automatically 37 days out, while trips booked within 37 days are charged in full at confirmation. Track everything on the Payment details page inside RVezy so your Scranton trip budget stays clear from booking to checkout.
