This travel trailer was perfect for us! It’s modern, spacious, fully furnished, bright and laid out well. The 2 entrance option was great - access to the bathroom directly from the outside worked out well at the dirt bike track, so no one had to track dirt across the floor. Delivery was smooth and communication was excellent. Plenty of room for everyone!

Sam was a great host, he communicated well and had everything set up before I got there. I was a family of 4 and we had enough room. Shower is perfect size and bathroom even comes with a door so you can go straight outside. We had a canopy and led light outside plus outdoor speakers with a built in radio/ bluetooth that comes with the camper. You won’t be disappointed. Book your next trip with Sam.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Greensboro?

A regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Greensboro, GA. Georgia does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal motorhomes, travel trailers, or fifth wheels rented through RVezy, no matter the size. You'll need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID right inside the platform during booking, so there's no extra paperwork to chase down. Visiting from outside the US? Lake Oconee/Greensboro KOA Holiday on Carey Station Road is the local favorite, with full hookups, a private beach, and a railroad-themed setup. Old Salem Park (a Georgia Power campground on the south shore) offers wooded lakefront sites and a swim beach. Parks Ferry Campground and Lawrence Shoals Campground, both Georgia Power facilities, are quieter and great for fishing. A.H. Stephens State Park in nearby Crawfordville adds horseback riding to the mix. Pro tip: Georgia Power lakefront sites book up fast for summer holidays, so reserve as soon as your dates are locked.

When is the best time to rent an RV in Greensboro, GA?

The sweet spot for an RV rental in Greensboro, GA is mid-March through May and mid-September through October, when daytime highs hover in the comfortable 70s to low 80s and Lake Oconee's humidity backs off. Summer (June-August) brings real heat, with July highs around 91°F and heat indexes that can climb past 100°F, so you'll want a rig with strong air conditioning if you're booking those months. Winters are mild (January highs near 52°F), which makes a quiet off-season lake getaway very doable. Pro tip: late October at Lake Oconee is magical, the hardwoods around the shoreline turn gold and red, and campground rates often drop 20 to 30 percent.

If you're nervous about towing or backing into a site, book a Class C motorhome or a campervan rental Greensboro hosts offer, both drive much like a large van. Pro tip: ask your host about delivery, you can skip the drive entirely on trip one.

Class A motorhomes average 7 to 10 mpg, Class C around 10 to 14 mpg, travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 9 to 13 mpg combined), and campervans can stretch to 18 to 22 mpg. For a typical 200-mile weekend loop around Lake Oconee, budget $60 to $120 in fuel for most motorhome rental Greensboro options. How far in advance should I book a campground near Greensboro?

For summer weekends and holidays at Lake Oconee, book your campsite 3 to 6 months ahead, especially for Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. Georgia Power campgrounds (Old Salem, Parks Ferry, Lawrence Shoals) take reservations through their official site, Lake Oconee/Greensboro KOA books directly through koa.com, and Georgia State Parks like Hard Labor Creek and A.H. Stephens use gastateparks.org. Shoulder-season trips in March, April, October, and November are much easier, you can often grab a lakefront site 2 to 3 weeks out. Pro tip: many of the best campgrounds near Greensboro release cancellations on Monday mornings, so refresh the booking page early in the week if your first choice looks full.

What are local driving conditions like around Greensboro?

Easy and beginner-friendly, the Greensboro area is mostly flat, with wide rural highways and a calm pace that's perfect for an RV. I-20 runs right past town and is your main artery to Atlanta and Augusta. GA-44 and US-278 connect Greensboro to Eatonton and Madison through gentle rolling countryside. Watch for two things: summer afternoon thunderstorms (pull off if visibility drops, common July-August) and occasional deer at dawn and dusk along Carey Station Road and Lake Oconee Parkway. Bridge clearances on I-20 are a comfortable 14+ feet, well within RV limits. Pro tip: avoid I-20 westbound into Atlanta on Friday afternoons, leave by 10 a.m. or wait until after 7 p.m. for an easy ride.

Georgia Power's Old Salem and Parks Ferry campgrounds have water and electric hookups, dump stations, bathhouses with hot showers, and boat ramps right on Lake Oconee. State parks like Hard Labor Creek include showers, laundry, and trash service. Pro tip: if your RV has a smaller fresh-water tank, fill up at Lake Oconee Parkway gas stations on your way in, then top off again at the KOA's water station before settling into your site.
