Wonderful across the board. The RV was clean, drove perfectly (mountains of Colorado and New Mexico), and was impeccably organized. They have clearly thought through all the things that might be needed on a long trip and made them easily accessible. The toilet cassette was easy to empty (particularly in a latrine -- 3-5 minutes with no mess). The refrigerator and cabinets have plenty of space and beds were comfortable. It was easy to stop and sleep overnight in parks. We were really pleased and would happily rent this RV again.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Broadview, IL

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Broadview, IL?

Good news: an RV rental in Broadview can fit almost any budget. On RVezy, travel trailers in the Chicago suburbs typically start around $79 per night, Class C motorhomes run roughly $150 to $250 per night, and big Class A coaches sit at the top end. Because Broadview is a tight-knit village inside Cook County, you'll find competitive pricing thanks to dozens of nearby Chicagoland hosts. To score a cheap RV rental in Broadview, aim for midweek pickups, book at least 6 to 8 weeks ahead for summer Lollapalooza or NASCAR Chicago Street Race weekends, and consider a smaller trailer if your tow vehicle can handle it. Pro tip: hosts often discount weekly bookings by 10 to 20 percent, so a 7-night trip can be cheaper per night than a long weekend.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Broadview, Illinois?

For the vast majority of RV rentals in Broadview, your regular Class D driver's license is all you need. Illinois only requires a higher license class for vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) over 16,000 pounds, and virtually every campervan, travel trailer, Class B, and Class C motorhome on RVezy falls well under that. You'll also need to be 25 or older to book. Visiting from out of state? Illinois recognizes your home-state license, so you're good to go. International guests should grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) from their home auto club before arrival. RVezy verifies your ID through the platform, so the whole process happens before you even pick up the keys.

What protection is included when I rent an RV in Broadview?

Every RV rental in Broadview booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance included, so you are never on the road alone. The protection plan helps cover physical damage to the RV during your trip, which removes the biggest worry most first-time renters have. At checkout you can choose between different coverage levels, so you can pick the peace-of-mind tier that matches your trip, whether you are taking a short loop around the Cook County Forest Preserves or a longer Illinois RV trip. Coverage details, deductibles, and inclusions are clearly explained before you confirm, so a minor mishap on I-290 or a stray rock on I-88 does not derail your vacation budget.

What if I need to cancel my Broadview RV rental?

You can book with confidence: RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every reservation, not the individual host, which means consistent and transparent rules across the platform. There is a money-back grace period right after booking, with additional flexibility depending on how far out your trip start date is. Because Illinois weather can swing fast between Chicago winter storms and summer derechos, this consistency really matters for a Broadview trip. The cancellation policy is managed centrally by RVezy rather than displayed on each listing. If plans change, open your booking in your RVezy account and the support team will walk you through your options.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Broadview?

Yes, many Chicagoland hosts welcome four-legged co-pilots. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to narrow down pet-friendly RV rental options in Broadview. Once you are rolling, your dog will love nearby spots like the Miller Meadow off-leash dog area in Maywood (about 5 minutes away), the Cook County Forest Preserves trail system along the Des Plaines River, and Montrose Dog Beach in Chicago (around 30 minutes east). Most Illinois state park campgrounds, including Illinois Beach State Park and Channahon State Park, also allow leashed dogs on sites and trails. Tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee so checkout is smooth.

Can the RV be delivered to me in Broadview?

Yes, RV delivery in Broadview is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if you are a first-time renter nervous about driving a big rig through Chicagoland traffic. Many RVezy hosts in the western suburbs will deliver to your driveway, a local campground, or directly to a destination like Chain O'Lakes State Park or KOA Chicago Northwest. They will level the RV, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Delivery fees are set per listing and typically scale with distance. Filter listings by Delivery on RVezy, then message the host with your destination to get an exact quote.

How far can I travel on an RV rental from Broadview?

You've got the whole Midwest at your fingertips from Broadview. Many hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and several offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is gold for a real road trip. From Broadview you can easily reach Starved Rock State Park (about 90 miles southwest), Indiana Dunes National Park (75 miles east), Wisconsin Dells (190 miles north), Galena (165 miles west), or Lake Geneva (75 miles north). Mileage policy and overage rates (usually $0.30 to $0.50 per extra mile) are listed clearly on each RVezy listing. Pro tip: if you're planning a longer loop, filter by unlimited mileage from the start to avoid surprise charges at drop-off.

Where are the best campgrounds near Broadview, IL?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping near Broadview. The closest options include Windy City Beach and Camping Resort in Beach Park (about 50 minutes north), Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Pine Country (an hour northwest), KOA Chicago Northwest in Union (about 50 miles), and Camp Bullfrog Lake right inside the Cook County Forest Preserves in Willow Springs (under 20 minutes from Broadview). For state-park lovers, Chain O'Lakes State Park and Illinois Beach State Park along Lake Michigan are both within 90 minutes. Pro tip: Camp Bullfrog Lake is hands-down the best campground near Broadview for a quick weekend, with electric sites, paved pads, and trails right out the door.

When is the best time to rent an RV in Broadview?

Late May through early October is prime time for an RV rental in Broadview, with daytime highs running from the upper 60s in May to the mid-80s in July and August, and crisp 60s and 70s in September. September is the local insider's secret: the kids are back in school, mosquitoes thin out, campground rates dip, and the Illinois fall foliage along the Des Plaines River and Starved Rock canyons is unreal. Winter trips (December through February) are possible too, with temps often dipping into the teens, so if you're booking December through March, look for a four-season RV with a furnace and heated holding tanks. Spring is great for festivals and Cubs opening day, just pack layers, April can swing 40 degrees in a day.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?

Yes, first time renting an RV in Broadview is genuinely easier than people expect, and your host has your back. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup, covering driving, leveling, dumping, propane, and the generator, so you're not figuring it out from a YouTube video on the shoulder of I-290. Many Broadview-area renters start with a Class B campervan or a small Class C motorhome rental in Broadview, which drive much like a large van. If big-city driving makes you nervous, ask about delivery so the RV is waiting for you at the campground. Pro tip: take your first drive on a Sunday morning when Eisenhower Expressway traffic is light, and you'll feel like a pro by lunch.

What happens if I have a breakdown during my Illinois RV trip?

You are covered around the clock. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so if you get a flat on I-294, run out of fuel near O'Hare, or lock the keys inside at Starved Rock, one phone call gets help dispatched. For mechanical questions, your host is also a message away and usually knows their RV inside and out. RVezy customer support is reachable before, during, and after your trip through the Help Center. Tip: snap photos of your RV at pickup and drop-off, save the roadside number to your phone, and you will roll out of Broadview with total peace of mind.

Can I take my Broadview RV rental to Wisconsin, Indiana, or Canada?

Yes, interstate travel from Broadview is one of the perks of renting here: you are about 90 minutes from Wisconsin and 30 minutes from Indiana. Popular routes for an RV road trip from Broadview include Lake Geneva and Door County in Wisconsin, Indiana Dunes National Park, and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Cross-border travel into Canada is allowed by many hosts but depends on their specific policy and insurance coverage, so message the host first to confirm before booking. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage does not extend there. Tip: the Lake Michigan loop through Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana is a classic 7-day trip and easily doable from Broadview.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

How much should I budget for fuel on an Illinois RV trip?

Fuel is usually the second-biggest line item after the rental itself. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes get 10 to 14 MPG, and Class A coaches sit around 7 to 10 MPG. Travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle, usually 10 to 14 MPG combined. Illinois fuel prices typically run above the national average due to state fuel taxes, so budget accordingly when planning your route. A round-trip from Broadview to Starved Rock (about 180 miles) in a Class C will run roughly $50 to $70 in fuel at current prices. Tip: fill up in suburbs like Hodgkins or Bolingbrook before heading out, prices there are usually lower than inside Chicago city limits.
tax.illinois.gov/research/taxinformation/excise/motorfuel.html

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Broadview?

Book early and you'll have your pick of the best sites. Illinois state park campgrounds like Chain O'Lakes, Illinois Beach, and Starved Rock open reservations 6 months in advance through Reserve America's ExploreMoreIL system, and the best lakefront and electric sites for summer weekends often vanish within hours of release. Cook County Forest Preserve campgrounds like Camp Bullfrog Lake open bookings in February for the full season. Private parks like KOA Chicago Northwest can usually be booked 3 to 4 weeks out for weekdays, but holiday weekends fill up months ahead. Pro tip: if a summer Saturday is sold out, try a Sunday-to-Thursday stay, you'll have your pick of premium sites and often save 20 percent.

What should I know about driving an RV in the Chicago area?

Chicagoland driving has a few quirks worth knowing before you roll. Many Chicago parkways like Lake Shore Drive and the Eden Expressway have low-clearance bridges (under 12 feet), so stick to interstates (I-290, I-294, I-88, I-90) where clearances are 14 feet or more, which fits every standard RV. Tolls are everywhere in Illinois, so set up an I-PASS transponder or expect to pay double via Pay By Plate within 14 days. Avoid driving through the Loop entirely, head west on I-88 or north on I-294 to escape the metro quickly. Pro tip: from Broadview you can be on rural two-lane roads in under 45 minutes by heading west on I-88, which makes it one of the easier Chicago suburbs to start an RV trip from.
illinoistollway.com/tolling-information

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Broadview?

Most campgrounds near Broadview are well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Illinois state parks like Chain O'Lakes and Illinois Beach offer electric hookups (typically 30-amp or 50-amp), potable water fill stations, dump stations, hot showers, and flush toilets. Private parks like KOA Chicago Northwest and Yogi Bear's Jellystone go further with full hookups (water, sewer, electric at the site), WiFi, pools, and propane refills. For free dumping and water near Broadview, the Flying J Travel Plaza in Bolingbrook (about 25 minutes) is a popular stop. Pro tip: confirm hookup amperage when booking, an older RV with a 30-amp plug needs an adapter for 50-amp sites, and your host will pack one if you ask.
dnr.illinois.gov/parks/park.illinoisbeach.html

What's inside a typical RV rental in Broadview?

You'll be impressed by how loaded modern RVs are. A typical motorhome rental in Broadview includes a full kitchen (fridge, freezer, propane stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with shower and toilet, sleeping for 4 to 8 depending on size, a dinette that converts to a bed, climate control with air conditioning and furnace, and a house battery so you can dry-camp off-grid. Most include a TV, many have WiFi boosters or hotspots, and Class A and larger Class C rigs often include a generator for boondocking. Seatbelts are provided for every designated passenger, which is the legal limit for travel in Illinois. Pro tip: filter RVezy by sleeps count and check the photos carefully, owner descriptions list every appliance and add-on so there are zero surprises at pickup.
ilsos.gov/departments/vehicles/title_and_registration/safetybelt.html

What add-ons and pickup options are available with my rental?

Hosts in Broadview offer some genuinely useful add-ons to make your trip easier. Common extras include linen and kitchen kits ($25 to $75), camp chairs and outdoor mats ($10 to $20), bike racks, generators (often $5 to $15 per hour of use), and propane top-offs. Many hosts also offer delivery and pickup so you skip the suburban driving altogether. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Broadview, Maywood, Oak Park, or Forest Park, and takes about 45 to 60 minutes for the walkthrough. Mileage policies vary by listing, so check the daily mileage allowance and overage rate before booking. Pro tip: bundle the linen kit and a generator for one-stop convenience, especially if you're heading to a non-electric state park site.
dnr.illinois.gov/parks.html

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book your RV rental in Broadview through RVezy, you pay through the platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, which protects both sides. A refundable security deposit is held on your card before your trip (amount varies by listing) and released after the host confirms the RV came back in good shape, typically within a few days of return. To avoid deposit issues, do a video walkthrough with your host at pickup and drop-off, return the RV with the agreed fuel and propane levels, and empty the holding tanks if your booking requires it. Tip: keep all your trip receipts in one folder so any after-trip questions are easy to sort out.
