2018 Thor Motor Coach Class C
Renting this RV was a positive experience. Bryan and his wife made the process incredibly smooth, providing a very upkept RV. Though I only needed it overnight, (for an event) it was very well stocked with everything needed for an extended trip. I marked 5 stars for communication because he was so helpful and excellent to ensure everything went smoothly. This of course made pickup/drop-off a breeze, and the RV drove beautifully. HIGHLY recommended for a hassle-free, comfortable adventure. Thanks again Bryan.

Beautiful, clean, well appointed and easy to drive RV with intuitive controls. J was easy to reach and very helpful. Drove from Michigan to North Carolina and back in snow in gusting winds and I didn’t have to fight the vehicle to stay on the road. Visibility was superb. I highly recommend and would rent this RV again

Paul was great to deal with. He was flexible on pick up and drop off times, gave me a good walk through of the trailer as I picked it up and though i didnt need to call him, he made himself available for any questions while we were on our trip. The trailer was perfect, comfortable and no issues at all.

We had such a great time with Ken’s RV. We traveled to Michigan to race our boat on Lake Erie. The yacht club allowed camping and my crew and I decided to do it in style! We were the envy of every other boat. Clean, roomy. AC when it got warm. Furnace for cool mornings. The awning was a great bonus in the afternoon. A short walk to our dock or to the club house locker room. A terrific value. Thanks Ken!

What if I need to cancel my Wyandotte RV trip?

Booking an RV rental in Wyandotte is low-risk because RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy. How far can I drive on my Wyandotte RV rental and is unlimited mileage available?

Many Wyandotte hosts offer generous mileage caps, and some list RVs with unlimited mileage, perfect for a longer Michigan road trip. Standard daily allowances typically run 100 to 150 miles, which easily covers a day at Lake Erie Metropark (about 15 miles), The Henry Ford in Dearborn (about 12 miles), Belle Isle in Detroit (about 20 miles), or a loop up to Frankenmuth (about 115 miles). For an RV rental with unlimited mileage, filter by mileage policy or sort hosts by highest daily allowance. If you are planning a road trip from Wyandotte to Sleeping Bear Dunes (about 280 miles each way), prepay a mileage bundle, it is almost always cheaper than paying per-mile overage at drop-off.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Wyandotte?

Late May through early October is prime season for an RV trip from Wyandotte, with June and September being the sweet spot, warm days in the 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit, fewer mosquitoes than July, and shoulder-season pricing. July and August get hot and humid (mid-80s, occasional 90s) but deliver classic Lake Erie beach weather and festivals like Wyandotte Street Art Fair in mid-July. Fall foliage peaks mid to late October and is stunning along the Detroit River and inland to the Irish Hills. Winter rentals are limited but possible for ice-fishing trips or holiday family visits. Pro tip: book a September Wyandotte RV rental for the best balance of weather, price, and availability.

I've never rented an RV before, what should I expect at pickup in Wyandotte?

First time renting an RV? Wyandotte hosts are known for being hands-on. At pickup, your host gives you a full orientation, usually 30 to 60 minutes, walking you through driving the rig, dumping tanks, hooking up at a campground, running the fridge and furnace, and operating slides or awnings. You leave with the host's cell number, so a quick text or call solves most questions on the road. Many Wyandotte hosts also let you take a short practice loop on quieter streets near Bishop Park before you head out. Combined with RVezy's 24/7 support, you will feel like a pro by the time you hit I-75 south toward Lake Erie.

Your host is also a direct resource, most Wyandotte owners answer texts quickly and can troubleshoot small issues like a tripped GFCI or stuck slide. Can I take my Wyandotte RV rental across the border into Canada?

Often yes. Wyandotte sits on the Detroit River across from Windsor, Ontario, so cross-border trips are a natural fit, but you need the host's written approval before crossing. Many Wyandotte hosts allow Canadian travel, just message them before booking to confirm and request a cross-border letter of authorization to show Canada Border Services. Everyone on board needs a passport or other WHTI-compliant document. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Popular Canadian add-ons from Wyandotte include Point Pelee National Park (about 50 miles), Niagara Falls (about 240 miles), and Long Point Provincial Park on Lake Erie's north shore.

What are the best RV road trip routes from Wyandotte?

An RV road trip from Wyandotte puts you within easy reach of some of the Midwest's best destinations. Top routes include: north to Mackinac Island and the Upper Peninsula via I-75 (about 290 miles, 5 hours); west to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (280 miles, 4.5 hours); south to Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio (75 miles); the Lake Huron Sunrise Coast loop through Port Huron and Tawas (220 miles); and a Pure Michigan beer-and-cherries run to Traverse City (250 miles). All are pavement-friendly and well within range of a one-week rental with standard mileage. Pro tip: head north on a Sunday afternoon to dodge Detroit-area Friday traffic on I-75.

What kind of fuel economy and gas budget should I plan for?

Budgeting fuel for your Wyandotte RV trip is straightforward once you know your rig. Travel trailers don't burn fuel themselves but drop your tow vehicle's MPG to roughly 10 to 14. Class B campervans get the best mileage at 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 10 to 14 MPG, and Class A coaches sit around 7 to 10 MPG. Michigan gas prices generally hover near or just below the national average, with Wyandotte and the Downriver area often a few cents cheaper than central Detroit. For a 500-mile loop in a Class C, expect $150 to $200 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Wyandotte or Southgate before heading north, prices climb noticeably past Bay City.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Wyandotte?

For the best sites, book six months ahead, which is the maximum window on Michigan's official reservation system at MiDNRReservations.com, covering Sterling State Park and every other Michigan state park. Holiday weekends (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day) often sell out the day the window opens. Private parks like Harbortown RV Resort and Camp Lord Willing typically open bookings further out and can fill by spring for peak summer. If you are a last-minute planner, midweek stays in June or September often have openings even days before arrival. Set a calendar reminder for exactly six months before your target date and book as soon as the system opens.

What are driving conditions like around Wyandotte and Detroit?

Driving an RV around Wyandotte is more manageable than most metro areas because Downriver streets are wide and flat, with easy access to I-75 just minutes from town. That said, avoid the I-94/I-75 interchange in downtown Detroit during weekday rush hours (7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.), and skip the Lodge Freeway (M-10) tunnels where height-restricted underpasses can surprise tall Class A rigs. Watch for potholes, Michigan's freeze-thaw cycle is legendary, and keep an eye out for the low railroad bridge on Eureka Road. If city driving makes you nervous, book a host who offers RV delivery in Wyandotte and let them handle the urban miles for you.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Wyandotte?

Campgrounds near Wyandotte run the full spectrum from rustic to resort. Sterling State Park offers electric (50/30-amp) hookups, modern restrooms, hot showers, a dump station, and potable water fill, but no individual sewer hookups. Private parks like Harbortown RV Resort and Camp Lord Willing add full hookups (water, sewer, electric), Wi-Fi, laundry, pools, and camp stores. You'll find a dump station and freshwater fill at Sterling State Park (open to non-registered campers for a $10 fee with a Recreation Passport) and at most Flying J and Pilot truck stops along I-75. Pro tip: top off freshwater before leaving Wyandotte, the city water is excellent and saves you a stop later.

What's actually inside the RVs I can rent in Wyandotte?

Today's RV rentals in Wyandotte are basically apartments on wheels. Expect a real queen or king bed, bunk options in family-sized Class C motorhomes, a full kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave, propane stove, and oven, plus an indoor bathroom with toilet and shower. Most rigs include roof air conditioning, propane furnace, hot water heater, and seatbelts for every passenger (the legal sleep-while-moving capacity). Many Wyandotte hosts also throw in a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor speakers, generator, and even cellular Wi-Fi hotspots, great for streaming the Tigers game from Lake Erie Metropark. Check each listing's amenities tab to see exactly what's included, and message hosts for anything special like a kayak rack or pack-n-play.

What add-ons and extras can I get with my Wyandotte RV rental?

Popular add-ons include kitchen and linen kits ($50 to $100), camp chairs and outdoor rugs ($25 to $50), bikes and kayaks ($15 to $40 per day), generators ($25 to $50 per day for travel trailers), and pet packages with bowls, blankets, and waste bags. Delivery and setup is the biggest game-changer, $2 to $4 per mile from the host's base, often with free setup at Sterling State Park or Lake Erie Metropark. Pickup is typically same-day flexible, with most Wyandotte hosts offering a 1 to 3 p.m. pickup window and 10 to 11 a.m. drop-off. How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment on RVezy is simple and secure. You pay through the platform with a credit or debit card, never cash to the host. A portion is charged at booking and the balance is collected closer to your trip date. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment and is typically pre-authorized on your card before pickup, not charged unless damage occurs, and released after a clean return. To avoid hiccups, do a thorough walkaround video at pickup and drop-off with your host, dump tanks before returning, and refuel to the level noted on the rental agreement.
