We had an absolutely amazing experience renting Gloria’s RV. From start to finish, everything was smooth, well-communicated, and exactly as described. The RV itself was in great condition—clean, comfortable, and fully functional for everything we needed during our trip. It made the entire experience at SandFest that much better. What really stood out was Gloria as a host. She was responsive, helpful, and clearly takes pride in making sure her renters have a great experience. That level of care makes a huge difference. Even more importantly, my dog absolutely loved the trip. The setup worked perfectly, and it made traveling with him easy and enjoyable. I would 100% rent from Gloria again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable RV experience.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Aransas Pass, TX

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Aransas Pass, TX?

RV rental in Aransas Pass is one of the best values on the Texas Gulf Coast, with most travel trailers starting around $90 to $150 per night and Class C motorhomes typically running $175 to $275 per night on RVezy. What license do I need to rent an RV in Aransas Pass?

Good news: a regular Texas (or any U.S./Canadian) driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Aransas Pass. Texas does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for personal RVs under 26,001 pounds, which covers virtually every motorhome and travel trailer on RVezy. Approved drivers on RVezy are generally 25 or older, and your ID is verified securely through the platform during booking. Visiting from abroad? An International Driving Permit paired with your home license works perfectly. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple it is, so you can focus on planning your ferry ride to Port Aransas instead of paperwork.

What is the cancellation policy if my Aransas Pass trip changes?

Booking your Aransas Pass RV trip is low risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy consistently across the platform, not the individual host. Your refund depends on how far out you cancel from your trip start date, and RVezy support can help if extraordinary circumstances arise. You don't need to compare policies between listings since the same rules apply across RVezy. Pro tip: book early for the spring birding season and you'll lock in the best rigs while keeping flexibility on your side.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Aransas Pass?

You've got this, and Aransas Pass is actually one of the friendlier places in Texas to learn. Roads are flat, traffic is light outside of summer weekends, and Highway 35 and 361 are wide and well-marked. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup covering driving tips, hookups, slide-outs, and the dump station, so you're never left guessing. First time renting an RV? Choose a smaller Class C motorhome or a travel trailer under 25 feet, and consider delivery so the host parks it for you at Goose Island State Park or Ransom Road RV Park. Pro tip: skip the Port Aransas ferry with a big rig and use the JFK Causeway from Corpus Christi instead, it's much easier.

An RV road trip from Aransas Pass opens up some of Texas's best coastal and Hill Country drives. Head 25 miles south to Corpus Christi for the Texas State Aquarium and USS Lexington, then continue 45 miles to Padre Island National Seashore for 70 miles of undeveloped beach. Drive 155 miles northwest to San Antonio for the River Walk and Alamo, or 180 miles south to South Padre Island. For a longer loop, Big Bend National Park is about 600 miles west. What kind of fuel mileage and gas budget should I plan for?

Budgeting for fuel on your Aransas Pass RV trip is easier than you'd think. Class B campervan rental Aransas Pass options get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A motorhomes run 6 to 10 MPG. Travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle, typically 10 to 14 MPG combined. Texas gas prices are consistently among the lowest in the U.S., with Aransas Pass stations like the Stripes and H-E-B Fuel near Highway 35 often 20 to 40 cents cheaper than the national average. How far in advance should I book a campground in Aransas Pass?

For the best sites, book your Aransas Pass campground 3 to 5 months ahead, especially for winter and spring. Goose Island State Park accepts reservations up to 5 months in advance through Texas Parks & Wildlife (texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com or 512-389-8900), and bayfront sites can disappear within hours of opening. Private parks like Ransom Road RV Park and Aransas Oaks RV Resort book directly through their own websites and tend to fill up November through March with snowbirds. Pro tip: if Goose Island is full, check back often, sites open up daily as plans change, and you can score a bayfront spot with patience.

What are the driving conditions like around Aransas Pass?

Driving an RV around Aransas Pass is refreshingly easy. The terrain is pancake-flat, elevations stay under 25 feet, and the main routes (Highway 35, Highway 361, and Highway 188) are wide with generous shoulders. The free Aransas Pass to Port Aransas ferry does accept RVs but expect 30 to 60 minute waits on summer weekends, so big rigs often prefer the longer JFK Causeway route from Corpus Christi. Watch for strong Gulf crosswinds on the causeways, especially with tall travel trailers, and slow down during sudden coastal squalls. Hurricane season (June through November) rarely disrupts trips, but check the National Weather Service Corpus Christi forecast before driving. Pro tip: avoid Highway 35 on Sunday afternoons in summer when beachgoers head home.

Goose Island State Park has water and electric at 101 sites, a dump station on-site, and showers in every loop. If you need to dump or refill water mid-trip, the Goose Island dump station is open to non-campers for a small fee, and many private parks offer drive-through dumping. Pro tip: top off your fresh water before the Port Aransas ferry, beach-area fills can be limited during peak weekends.

How do I handle the Gulf Coast summer heat and humidity in an RV?

Aransas Pass summers are hot and humid, but RV camping Aransas Pass is totally comfortable with a little planning. Daytime highs hit 90°F to 94°F from June through September with humidity around 75 to 80 percent, so book a rental with a strong roof AC (13,500 to 15,000 BTU minimum) and prioritize listings with dual AC units for larger rigs. Plug into 30 or 50-amp shore power at parks like Ransom Road RV Park or Aransas Oaks RV Resort so the AC runs nonstop. Park under oak shade at Goose Island State Park, drive in the cool morning hours, and keep awnings out for shade. Pro tip: shoulder seasons (March, April, October, November) deliver the same beach magic at 78°F and are the smart-money family RV trip Aransas Pass option.
