My family had a great time in the RV at a campsite in North Texas. The unit was very clean and spacious. They provide all essential needs within the unit and it was very easy to drive to the location. Olton walked through everything with me before heading out and hooking up the unit. I appreciate how friendly and accommodating he was and his responsiveness in communication.

Scott was a great host and very communicative, VERY responsive. My family used the camper for a short weekend trip near by. Towed the camper with our 18 GMC 1500 and it towed great. The oven worked great to cook cinnamon rolls, the Blackstone in the outside kitchen was great for smash burgers, tacos and breakfast. Very convenient to have a sink outside too! Perfect size for a family of 4 with small children. Would recommend finding a short list of "what to bring" for RV extras. Rugs for outside and in are a must with little children and a few extra towels to clean up around. Bring bedding, we did great with 3 sets of queen sheets and blankets. Bring a night light, most of the lighting in the trailer is quite bright. If you like it dark blackout curtains are a must for the, a great feature of the trailer is the amount of windows! (LOVED THE NATRUAL LIGHT). The only negative was the smell. We have a very sensitive nose when it comes cigarette smoke. We could tell at one time someone had smoked in the trailer. The smell dissipated once we opened some windows and ran the AC at 100%, it required air movement. Overall: Great trailer, fantastic floor plan, great host.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Greenville, TX

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Greenville, TX?

RV rental in Greenville, TX is one of the more affordable options in the Dallas Fort Worth region, with nightly rates typically running $95 to $175 for travel trailers, $150 to $235 for Class C motorhomes, and $215 to $340 for larger Class A coaches. Because hosts set their own pricing on RVezy, you will see real seasonal swings, with the best deals showing up midweek and in the shoulder months of late February, March, and October. For a cheap RV rental in Greenville, filter by travel trailers or campervans and book at least 30 days out. Pro tip: many Hunt County hosts offer weekly discounts of 10 to 20 percent, so a 6 night Lake Tawakoni trip can cost less than five separate weekend nights.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Greenville, Texas?

Good news, your regular Class C driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Greenville, Texas, even for 32 foot motorhomes. Texas does not require a Commercial Driver's License for personal-use RVs, which covers essentially every rig on RVezy. You will need to be at least 25 years old and complete RVezy's approved driver verification when you book. Visiting from outside the US? Pair your home country license with an International Driving Permit before your trip. Most first-time renters in Greenville are surprised at how straightforward the process is: book, verify, and drive.

What protection and roadside assistance is included with my RV rental in Greenville, TX?

Every RV rental in Greenville, TX booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you are covered from the moment you pull out of the driveway. You choose your coverage level at checkout from the available RVezy protection tiers, the host does not set this for you. If you get a flat on Interstate 30 heading toward Dallas or lock the keys inside at Cooper Lake State Park, one call gets help dispatched any hour of the day. Pro tip: review the protection tiers at booking and pick the one that matches your comfort level for deductibles and coverage limits.

What happens if I need to cancel my Greenville RV rental?

You are not locked in the second you book. RVezy sets the cancellation policy, not the individual host, so terms are consistent across every listing in Greenville. Refunds depend on how far in advance of your trip start date you cancel, and there are added protections for situations like documented natural disasters, which is reassuring during North Texas tornado and severe storm season. That means you can compare campervans and motorhomes for your Greenville RV trip without worrying that one host is stricter than another. Pro tip: book earlier rather than later so you have more flexibility under the cancellation tiers if plans change.

Pro tip: state parks book up fast for spring weekends, reserve through the Texas Parks and Wildlife site as soon as your RV is confirmed.

When is the best time to visit Greenville, TX in an RV?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Greenville is mid March through late May and again from mid September through early November, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit range and nights cool into the 50s and 60s, perfect for campfires. Summers in Hunt County are genuinely hot, with July and August averaging highs near 94 degrees and humidity to match, so you'll want a rig with strong air conditioning if you visit then. Winters are mild with January highs around 54 degrees, so off season RV trips are very doable. Pro tip: book a rental for the East Texas State Fair in Greenville or the Audie Murphy Days events for a uniquely local experience.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I really be able to figure it out?

Yes, and most first time renters in Greenville are running their awning and stove like pros within the first hour. Every RVezy host provides a hands on walkthrough at pickup or delivery, showing you how to dump tanks, switch the fridge between propane and electric, level the rig, and connect at the campground. Hosts in Hunt County are known for being patient and detail oriented, and many provide printed cheat sheets or short walkthrough videos you can rewatch at the campsite. You can also message your host any time during the trip with questions. Pro tip: book a smaller travel trailer or Class C for your first Greenville RV trip, they're easier to back into the tree shaded sites at Cooper Lake.

What if something breaks down during my Greenville RV trip?

You will not be stranded. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance with the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you are on Interstate 30, US 69, or a back road near Lake Tawakoni. Roadside covers the common issues: flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and fuel delivery. For mechanical or appliance issues inside the RV, such as the air conditioner quitting on a hot July afternoon, your host is your first contact and most can troubleshoot over the phone or arrange a fix. RVezy's support team is also available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: save the roadside number and your host's number to your phone before leaving the pickup.

Can I take my Greenville RV rental across state lines or into Mexico?

Crossing state lines is welcomed on most listings. An RV road trip from Greenville to Oklahoma (about 90 miles to the border), Arkansas, or Louisiana is totally doable and a favorite of local renters. Just confirm with the host through the RVezy message system before booking, since a few owners cap their travel radius. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection coverage do not extend across that border. For a classic long haul, Greenville to Hot Springs Arkansas is roughly 3.5 to 4 hours, and Broken Bow Oklahoma is just over 2.5 hours. Pro tip: build your route around Interstate 30, it is flat, four lane the whole way, and gentle on first time RV drivers.

What kind of fuel economy and gas budget should I expect?

Realistic numbers help you plan: Class C motorhomes around Greenville typically get 8 to 10 miles per gallon, Class A coaches 6 to 8 mpg, campervans 14 to 18 mpg, and your tow vehicle pulling a travel trailer about 10 to 12 mpg. Texas gas prices in the Greenville area generally run 15 to 30 cents below the national average, with Buc-ee's in Royse City and the Loves on Interstate 30 being popular fuel and snack stops. For a 4 day, 400 mile loop in a Class C, budget around $200 to $260 for fuel. Pro tip: fill up before leaving the DFW metro on your return, prices tend to rise the further east you go toward the Piney Woods.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Greenville?

For Texas state parks like Cooper Lake and Lake Tawakoni, book as early as you can. The reservation window opens 5 months ahead through the Texas Parks and Wildlife online system, and spring and fall weekends fill within days. US Army Corps of Engineers sites at Lavon Lake book through Recreation.gov up to 6 months out. Private parks around Greenville are more flexible, often available within a week or two. Pro tip: confirm your RVezy booking first, then snag the campsite, that way you know the rig's exact length for site compatibility (Cooper Lake has both 30 and 50 foot pads).

What are driving conditions like in and around Greenville?

Driving an RV around Greenville is about as easy as Texas gets. The terrain is gently rolling prairie, roads are wide, and the main artery, Interstate 30, is a flat four lane that connects you straight to Dallas in about an hour. Within town, stick to the main streets like Wesley, Lee, and Stonewall to avoid low hanging tree branches in older neighborhoods. Spring brings thunderstorms and the occasional tornado watch from March through May, so check the National Weather Service Fort Worth forecast each morning and plan to be parked by late afternoon on storm days. Pro tip: avoid downtown Dallas at rush hour in any RV over 25 feet, take the Interstate 635 loop or time your drive for after 7 pm.
weather.gov/fwd/

What amenities do campgrounds near Greenville offer?

You'll be well taken care of. Cooper Lake State Park and Lake Tawakoni State Park both offer 30 and 50 amp electric, water hookups, dump stations, hot showers, and flush toilets, with Cooper Lake's South Sulphur Unit also offering premium sewer hookup sites. The Lavon Lake Corps of Engineers parks (Clear Lake, Lavonia, East Fork) have water and electric with central dump stations and clean restrooms. Private parks like Countryside RV Park and 1770 West I-30 RV Park offer full hookups, laundry, Wi-Fi, and dog runs. For dumping or refilling water mid trip, the Pilot and Loves travel centers on Interstate 30 at exits 95 and 101 are reliable stops. Pro tip: bring a 25 foot freshwater hose and a 50 to 30 amp adapter to fit any North Texas site.

What's inside the RVs available for rent in Greenville?

Greenville rentals come stocked for comfort: most travel trailers and motorhome rentals in Greenville include a queen or king master bed, convertible dinette, full kitchen with three burner stove, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, and a wet or dry bathroom with shower and toilet. Class C and Class A rentals typically have a roof air conditioner (essential for Texas summers), furnace for winter trips, generator, and TV with antenna or Wi-Fi booster. Seatbelts are provided for travel positions, and most rigs sleep 4 to 8 people. Many hosts include linens, kitchenware, outdoor chairs, and a propane tank refill for the trip. Pro tip: check the listing's amenities tab and message the host to confirm Wi-Fi or generator hours, both matter for boondocking near Lake Tawakoni.
tdlr.texas.gov/rv/rv.htm

What add-ons and pickup options are available?

You've got options. Popular add-ons from Greenville hosts include linen and towel packages ($25 to $75), kitchen kits, outdoor patio mats and chairs, portable grills, generators, bike racks, Wi-Fi hotspots, and even kayaks for Lake Tawakoni trips. Most rentals offer two pickup paths: self pickup at the host's location in Greenville, Caddo Mills, or Commerce, or RV delivery directly to your campground (especially convenient for Cooper Lake or Lavon Lake stays). Mileage policies and add-on fees are spelled out on every listing before you book. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and a linen package and your only job at the campsite is to crack open a sweet tea and enjoy the sunset, ideal for a family RV trip in Greenville.

How does payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in Greenville?

Payment is simple and handled entirely through RVezy, no cash or paper checks change hands with the host. You pay the trip total securely online when you book using a major credit or debit card, and a refundable security deposit is held separately before your trip, typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the rig. The deposit is not charged unless there is damage or a policy breach, and it is released after the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. Doing a quick walkaround video at pickup and dropoff is the easiest way to avoid any back and forth. Pro tip: use a credit card with a high enough limit to comfortably cover the deposit hold without affecting your trip spending.

What are the best road trip destinations from Greenville, TX?

Popular runs include Broken Bow Lake Oklahoma (about 150 miles, 2.5 to 3 hours of pine forest and clear water), Hot Springs Arkansas (about 230 miles, 4 hours for thermal springs and mountain drives), Caddo Lake State Park near the Louisiana border (about 175 miles, 3 hours of cypress and Spanish moss), Austin and the Texas Hill Country (about 245 miles, 4 hours), and the Piney Woods around Tyler and Lake Bob Sandlin (90 to 120 miles east). For a low key first outing, Cooper Lake is only about 25 miles away. Pro tip: filter for unlimited mileage listings on RVezy if you are chaining two or three of these destinations into one trip.
