Lisa and Manny were amazing to deal with . They responded quickly and were very helpful in answering any questions we had. The trailer was exactly what we needed to make our camping weekend an enjoyable one !!!!

Lisa and Manny are wonderful hosts, explain everything in detail. Trailer tows beautifully. I had no issues with the trailer at all. I would suggest bringing a mattress topper because the Murphy bed mattress is not as thick as a regular mattress.

Ryan and Ashley are great to communicate with and flexible regarding delivery and pick up. They provided a great run through of the trailer. The trailer was perfect for our stay at Sandbanks and was fully stocked with all the necessary accessories. Would definitely rent again!

Wonderful experience booking and staying in this rental. The hosts were great at corresponding before our trip, and after we arrived they were helpful setting up and explaining the amenities. They were extremely flexible with delivery - it did not go unappreciated (especially when you're traveling with little ones). Thank you, Ryan & Ashley!!

RV camping near Shannonville Motorsport Park
The Peter Jackson Trophy Races bring vintage and classic motorsport to Shannonville Motorsport Park each year, typically held over a weekend in mid-July. The action kicks off Friday evening with a casual barbecue and live music, then Saturday delivers a full day of practice, qualifying, and two races for Vintage, Classic, and Formula Classic cars on the park's 2.47 kilometer Pro Track. Expect the growl of pre-1999 machinery, close wheel-to-wheel racing, and a relaxed paddock atmosphere where fans can walk among the cars between sessions. Ontario summers here run warm and sunny with a chance of afternoon showers, so light layers and sun protection make the day more comfortable.
Shannonville sits about 15 kilometers east of Belleville and roughly midway between Toronto and Montreal, making it an easy day trip or weekend getaway for racing fans across Ontario and Quebec. On site camping is available for race weekend, and nearby Belleville adds hotels, restaurants, and services if you want a change of scenery after the checkered flag. Traveling in an RV means you can park close to the track, skip the search for last minute lodging, and settle in with your own bed, kitchen, and bathroom after a long day trackside. It also gives you the flexibility to arrive Friday for the barbecue and stay through Saturday's trophy presentation without watching the clock on checkout times. Many RVezy hosts in the Belleville area offer delivery, so you can have a rig set up and waiting at your campsite before you ever get behind the wheel. For a small vintage racing weekend where the paddock feels like a community, rolling in with an RV lets you camp alongside fellow gearheads and make the whole event, not just the racing, part of the trip.

Shannonville Motorsport Park, Tyendinaga, ON, CA
Shannonville Motorsport Park sits just off Highway 401 in eastern Ontario, about two hours from Toronto and roughly three and a half hours from Montreal. Driving in, take Highway 401 to Exit 556 for Shannonville Road, then head south for about two miles until you reach Old Highway 2. Turn left, heading east, onto Old Highway 2 and continue for around three miles, where the track entrance at 7047 Old Highway 2 will be on your left. The approach roads are wide, rural highways that are comfortable for an RV, with clear signage directing race traffic into the venue. Once inside, follow the marshals to the designated parking and camping areas, where larger rigs can typically pull through without tight maneuvering. If you would rather not drive your rental in at all, look for an RVezy host in the Belleville area who offers delivery so your RV is parked and ready before you arrive.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV for Peter Jackson Trophy Races
When does the Peter Jackson Trophy Races take place at Shannonville Motorsport Park?
Good news, this is an easy one to plan around: the Peter Jackson Trophy Races run each year in mid-July, usually landing on the second Saturday of the month. The weekend actually starts Friday evening with a casual barbecue and live music in the paddock, then Saturday brings a full slate of practice, qualifying, and two races for Vintage, Classic, and Formula Classic cars, all on Shannonville's 2.47 kilometer Pro Track. That makes it a genuine weekend trip rather than a single afternoon stop. Block off Friday through Saturday night on your calendar, and check the official Shannonville Motorsport Park schedule as the date approaches so you can lock in your RV and campsite early.
shannonville.com/varac-peter-jackson-trophy-races/How much does it cost to attend the Peter Jackson Trophy Races, and where do I get in?
You will not need to hunt down a broker or worry about scalped prices here: general admission is a straightforward twenty dollars at the gate, and kids twelve and under get in free. Parking is complimentary as well, so your only real cost is the gate fee once you arrive at Shannonville Motorsport Park. There is no advance sales system to navigate, which means one less thing to plan around your RV trip. Just budget cash or a card for the gate, arrive a little early on Saturday morning to beat the line, and you will be parked and watching practice sessions before you know it.
shannonville.com/varac-peter-jackson-trophy-races/How do I get to Shannonville Motorsport Park, and is there parking for RVs?
Getting here is refreshingly simple: the track sits just off Highway 401 in eastern Ontario, roughly two hours from Toronto and about three and a half hours from Montreal. Take Exit 556 for Shannonville Road, head south about two miles to Old Highway 2, turn left, and the entrance at 7047 Old Highway 2 is on your left after a few more miles. Free parking is available on-site, and the approach roads are wide, comfortable driving for a full-size RV. Follow the marshals once you arrive; they will direct you straight to parking or camping, so there is no guesswork about where to park your rig.
shannonville.com/varac-peter-jackson-trophy-races/What actually happens during the Peter Jackson Trophy Races weekend?
Expect a packed, feel-good weekend built around cars you rarely see on track anywhere else. Friday evening opens with a relaxed barbecue and live music right in the paddock, a great way to meet fellow fans before the racing starts. Saturday is the main event: practice, qualifying, and two races across the Vintage, Classic, and Formula Classic run groups, all wrapped up with a trophy presentation. Because it is a single intense day of racing instead of a typical two-day regional, the pace stays high and the paddock stays social. Wander the pits between sessions, chat with the drivers and crews, and you will leave with a real feel for why VARAC members keep coming back every year.
varac.ca/events/peter-jackson-racesWhat is the weather like, and what should I pack for a day at the track?
You are in for a classic Ontario summer weekend: warm, sunny days with a real chance of a passing afternoon shower, so plan layers rather than a single outfit. A hat, sunscreen, and comfortable closed-toe shoes will serve you well for walking the paddock and grandstand areas between races. Pack a light rain jacket just in case, along with earplugs if you are sensitive to engine noise trackside. Traveling in an RV makes this easy since you can store extra layers, swap shoes, or duck inside if a shower rolls through, all without leaving the venue. Check the forecast the week of the event and pack accordingly, then enjoy the trackside atmosphere rain or shine.
Is the Peter Jackson Trophy Races a good event to bring kids to?
Absolutely, families are very welcome, and it shows in the pricing: children twelve and under get in free, so a family day at the track will not break the budget. Kids tend to love the sights, sounds, and smells of vintage racing up close, and the relaxed paddock atmosphere means there is plenty of room to walk around between sessions rather than being stuck in a single seat all day. Bring hearing protection for younger ears since the cars run loud, and pack snacks and shade for the in-between moments. Having your RV on-site is a real advantage too, giving little ones a place to nap, cool off, or recharge between race sessions.
shannonville.com/varac-peter-jackson-trophy-races/Will there be food and drinks available at the event, or should I bring my own?
You will not go hungry: the weekend traditionally opens with a Friday evening barbecue and live music right at the track, a relaxed way to fuel up before race day. For Saturday, plan to bring your own food and drinks or pack a cooler, since a vintage club event like this leans more on the racing than a full concession lineup. Having your RV on hand is genuinely useful here since you can cook, refrigerate drinks, and avoid relying on any one food option for the whole day. Pack a cooler with plenty of water, especially if the July sun is out in force, and you will be set for a comfortable day trackside.
varac.ca/events/peter-jackson-racesAre all types of RVs welcome at Shannonville Motorsport Park for this event?
Yes, this is a welcoming, low-key vintage racing weekend, and on-site camping is confirmed as part of the event, so RVs of most common types and sizes fit right into the regular scene here. Because Shannonville is a working motorsport facility rather than a dedicated campground, it is smart to check the current event listing on the official Shannonville Motorsport Park site for any specific length or class notes before you finalize your rig choice. Once you arrive, marshals will direct you to the appropriate camping or parking area for your vehicle. Booking a mid-size travel trailer or Class C motorhome through RVezy keeps maneuvering at the track as easy as possible.
shannonville.com/varac-peter-jackson-trophy-races/Can I have an RV delivered to me near Shannonville Motorsport Park instead of driving one there myself?
Yes, delivery is a realistic option here. A direct RVezy search for Shannonville does not turn up a large dedicated host list, but Belleville, just fifteen kilometers west, has an active roster of RVezy hosts, including several who offer delivery straight to your campsite or event location. That means you can search Belleville, Ontario on RVezy with delivery turned on, choose a host, and have your RV set up and ready before you ever arrive at the track. It also spares you a highway drive in an unfamiliar rig. Book a little early during race season, since delivery slots for popular weekends like this one tend to fill first.
rvezy.com/rv-rentals/destination/canada/ontario/bellevilleIs camping available right at the track for the Peter Jackson Trophy Races?
Yes, on-site camping is confirmed for this event, so you can genuinely stay where the action is instead of commuting in each day. That is a big plus for a weekend that kicks off with a Friday evening barbecue, since you can settle in Friday afternoon, enjoy the evening, and simply walk to the paddock Saturday morning. Keep a self-sufficient hookups setup in mind since track camping tends to be more basic than a full-service campground, so arrive with water and power reserves topped up. If you would rather have more amenities nearby, Belleville's campgrounds are a short drive away. Either way, camping trackside is one of the best ways to soak up the vintage racing atmosphere all weekend long.
shannonville.com/varac-peter-jackson-trophy-races/What if I want a hotel or campground instead of staying right at the track?
You have good options close by: Belleville sits about fifteen kilometers west of Shannonville Motorsport Park and offers a full range of hotels, restaurants, and services if you want more amenities than trackside camping provides. Several full-service campgrounds in the Belleville area also welcome RVs, with hookups and facilities that on-site camping at a working motorsport park will not always include. Staying in Belleville still keeps you within about a fifteen minute drive of the gate, so you will not lose much track time by choosing a bit more comfort. Book early during race weekends, since options near a popular racing venue can fill up faster than you expect.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shannonville_Motorsport_ParkIs Shannonville Motorsport Park accessible if I or someone in my group has mobility needs?
The good news is that the Pro Track's paddock and viewing areas sit on flat, open grounds, which generally makes navigating with mobility devices or strollers easier than at a tightly packed street event. That said, accessibility services can vary from one event day to the next, so it is worth reaching out to Shannonville Motorsport Park directly ahead of time to confirm accessible parking and viewing arrangements for race day. Traveling by RV can genuinely help here, since you bring your own accessible restroom and resting space right onto the grounds with you. A quick call before the event ensures your whole group has a comfortable, worry-free day trackside.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shannonville_Motorsport_ParkAny tips for a first-time visitor bringing an RV to the Peter Jackson Trophy Races?
First time here, you are in for a treat: this is a friendly, low-key event where fans mix easily with drivers and crews in the paddock. Arrive Friday afternoon if you can, since the evening barbecue and live music are a great way to settle in before the racing starts and the paddock is at its most relaxed. Get to the gate early Saturday morning for the best camping and parking spot, and bring a folding chair so you can watch from wherever you like along the Pro Track. Pack layers, sun protection, and a cooler, then plan to wander the pits between races since that access is part of what makes this event special for first-timers.
varac.ca/events/peter-jackson-racesAre there safety rules or restrictions I should know about before attending?
Nothing to stress over: this event is run by the Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada (VARAC), an experienced club that has organized vintage track days across Canada since 1976, so safety procedures are well established. Expect standard track-day rules like staying behind designated fencing during on-track sessions and following marshal directions at all times, especially around the paddock and pit lane. If you plan to bring an RV or camp on-site, keep pathways and fire lanes clear so emergency vehicles can move freely if needed. Checking the official event page before you go will confirm any current specifics, and once you are there, marshals are an easy, friendly resource for questions.
varac.ca/aboutHow does RVezy support me if something goes wrong during my RV trip to the event?

The RVezy mobile app keeps your booking, host messages, and trip details in one place, so help is always a few taps away even when you are trackside with limited signal. That kind of backup means you can focus on the racing and the road trip, not on worst-case scenarios.
