The best time to visit Anticosti National Park is from late June through August, when temperatures average 15 to 20 degrees Celsius (59 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit) and trails are fully accessible. July and early August offer the most stable weather, though rain is common year-round. Summer weather allows for hiking, cave exploration, and wildlife observation without snow or ice. Shoulder season visits in June and late August provide quieter experiences but come with cooler temperatures and occasional rain.

Hike through the dramatic Vauréal Canyon to view the 76-metre waterfall and swim near the base. The Vauréal Canyon Banks trail is a moderately challenging 4.4-mile route taking approximately 2.5 hours with 1,151 feet of elevation gain. The route crosses the river in several places and offers views of 300-foot-high canyon walls. alltrails.com/trail/canada/quebec/berges-du-canyon-de-la-vaureal
Explore Potato Cave (Grotte à la Patate), one of Quebec's longest caves at 625 metres. The cave is accessible via hiking trail and offers a unique underground experience in limestone passages carved over millennia.
Walk UNESCO World Heritage trails displaying 447-million-year-old marine fossils from the Ordovician period. Several trails offer access to limestone shelves and geological formations documenting Earth's first mass extinction event.
Observe one of North America's highest concentrations of white-tailed deer, with approximately 115,000 deer inhabiting the island. The deer are active during daylight hours due to the absence of large predators, making daytime observation highly productive.
Access nearly 125 kilometres of maintained trails crossing the island's boreal forests, coastal areas, river canyons, and open bogs. Trails range from easy coastal walks to strenuous multi-hour canyon hikes. alltrails.com/parks/canada/quebec/parc-national-d-anticosti

Anticosti National Park, QC, Canada
Anticosti National Park is located approximately 450 kilometres northeast of Quebec City on Anticosti Island in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The primary access point is Port-Menier, reachable by ferry from Rimouski (approximately 23 hours) or Sept-Îles (approximately 8 to 12 hours), or by small aircraft charter from Mont-Joli, Sept-Îles, Quebec City, or Montreal. Standard vehicles and RVs can be transported via the seasonal MV Bella Desgagnés ferry (operates April to October), though large RVs may face space constraints and advance booking is essential. Once on the island, the remote location and limited road infrastructure mean most visitors rent local 4x4 vehicles rather than relying on personal RVs for ground transportation.
