A scenic backcountry drive leads from the park area up to the Jesmond fire lookout. This scenic drive passes by Little Big Bar Lake and the historic townsite of Jesmond, and accesses the Jesmond fire lookout by way of a narrow four-wheel drive road, from which visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including Marble Range and Edge Hills Provincial Parks. How to get to Big Bar Lake Provincial Park
The park is located approximately 42 km northwest of Clinton, and is easily accessible via Highway 97 to approximately 8 km north of Clinton, and then via gravel road for a distance of about 34 km. From Kamloops the drive is roughly 200 km (about 2.5 hours) via Highway 97, and from Vancouver it is approximately 420 km (about 5 to 6 hours). RV drivers should prepare for a long gravel-road approach with no services, potential washboard sections, and steep grades on Highway 97 through the Fraser Canyon corridor. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Kamloops Airport (YKA), with Vancouver International (YVR) as a larger alternative.
