Late spring through early fall, roughly April to October, is the most popular window, with warm lake temperatures ideal for swimming, boating, and the pool. Summer weekends are busiest and the pool and pavilions see the heaviest use, so weekday visits are easier for RV drivers seeking parking space. Shoulder months such as April, May, and October offer mild temperatures, lower humidity, and quieter trails for hiking and mountain biking. Winter visits are possible for day hikes and fishing, though some amenities close seasonally.

Anglers fish from the park's shoreline and piers on Chickamauga Lake, a Tennessee River reservoir famous for trophy largemouth bass as well as crappie, bluegill, and catfish. A valid Tennessee fishing license is required for anglers 13 and older. Day-use parking near the water makes it easy to unload gear from an RV tow vehicle.
The park has a public boat ramp providing direct access to Chickamauga Lake for motorboats, kayaks, and paddleboards. The lake connects to a large navigable section of the Tennessee River system, popular for day cruising and waterskiing. Trailer parking is available near the ramp for RV renters towing a boat.
Several miles of natural-surface trails loop through wooded areas and along the lakeshore, suitable for short family walks and longer day hikes. Trails are generally rolling with modest elevation change and pass scenic lake overlooks. Trailheads are served by day-use parking lots.
Purpose-built single-track mountain-bike trails wind through the park's interior forest and are maintained with support from local cycling clubs. Routes include beginner-friendly loops as well as more technical sections with roots and short climbs. Riders park at designated day-use lots near the trailheads.
The park features a disc golf course routed through open meadows and wooded sections, free to play for day-use visitors. The layout offers a mix of open and technical holes suitable for beginners and experienced players. Parking is available at the course entrance.
A seasonal swimming pool operates during the warm months and is a popular draw for families during summer weekends. Picnic tables, grills, and pavilions surround the main day-use area and can be reserved in advance for groups. Pool hours and opening dates are set seasonally by Tennessee State Parks.
Several pavilions and open picnic areas are available near the lake and main meadow, with tables, grills, and restrooms. Pavilions can be reserved through Tennessee State Parks for family gatherings and events. The setting under mature hardwoods is a convenient midday stop for RV travelers exploring the Chattanooga area.
We opted for delivery and setup to the campsite which was great! When we arrived everything was set up and ready for us to move in. It was great to escape the heat at the event and have lunch and dinner at the camper. They were awesome to work with! We highly recommend them for a rental option!! We would definitely choose them again!!

So glad I chose to rent an rv for the first time this weekend, as it rained 2 of 3 days and nights. Communication was smooth, even when a strange fluke occurred and I accidently got locked out. Matt immediately drove out to the site with a spare. It seemed to be a malfunction in the mechanism which I'm sure they will be addressing soon. The camper was clean, well equipped and simple to operate. The bed was comfy and I am particular. So , I was , a happy camper.

Booker T. Washington State Park, TN, United States
The park is in Harrison, Tennessee, roughly a 15 to 20 minute drive northeast of downtown Chattanooga via Highway 58. Nashville sits about 140 miles northwest, around a 2 hour 30 minute drive on I-24, while Knoxville is roughly 110 miles northeast via I-75, about a 2 hour drive. RV drivers approaching from Chattanooga should be aware of ridge crossings on I-24 near Monteagle and Raccoon Mountain, which include steep grades and runaway truck ramps, and of lower-clearance bridges and narrow lake-access roads near the park entrance. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA), about 20 miles south of the park.
