How to get to Castle Provincial Park

Castle Provincial Park is located 2.5 hours south of Calgary, 1.5 hours west of Lethbridge, and approximately 1.5 hours north of Waterton Lakes National Park. The park is accessed via Highway 507 near the hamlet of Beaver Mines, reached from Highway 3. All internal park roads are paved and RV-accessible. The South Castle Road (Grizzly Trailhead) is closed December 1 through spring depending on creek crossing conditions and snowmelt. The nearest commercial airport is Calgary International (YYC), approximately 225 kilometers away.

Best time to visit Castle Provincial Park

The best time to visit is June through September, when all campgrounds and roads are open and weather is most favorable for outdoor activities. July and August offer the warmest temperatures, averaging 22C (72F) highs, and longest daylight hours, though these are peak season with higher crowds. June marks the start of the camping season but roads may open gradually depending on snow melt. September offers shoulder-season advantages with cooler, quieter conditions ideal for hiking and fall colors.

Extremely clean trailer. Equipped with newer efficient systems. Lightly and tastefully decorated with adequate supply of cooking and eating essentials, coffee maker, and coffee included, bedding was clean and comfortable fridge was cold. Cool RGB awning light.
