Codorus State Park, PA, United States
The park is about 5 miles southeast of Hanover and roughly 20 miles southwest of York, typically a 30 to 40 minute drive on PA Route 216. Baltimore, Maryland is about 50 miles south, around a 75 minute drive via I-83 and secondary highways, while Harrisburg is about an hour to the north. Access roads are rural two-lane highways with rolling grades and a few tight turns, so larger Class A and fifth-wheel rigs should plan their route carefully and avoid narrow farm lanes. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Harrisburg International (MDT), with Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) as a larger alternative.
Late spring through early fall is the prime window for RV trips to Codorus, with May and June offering warm days, blooming woodlands, and fewer biting insects than midsummer. July and August bring the busiest lake weekends for boating and swimming, so reservations should be made well in advance. September and October are excellent shoulder months, with cooler nights, fall color across the hardwood ridges, and strong fishing. Winter visits are possible for day use, but the campground operates on a limited seasonal schedule.

Lake Marburg is the centerpiece of the park and welcomes sailboats, powerboats, kayaks, and canoes from public launches around the shoreline. Boat rentals and seasonal mooring are available, making this an easy activity for RV travelers without their own vessel.
Lake Marburg is one of the most popular fishing lakes in southern Pennsylvania, with largemouth bass, muskellunge, crappie, and panfish among the common catches. Shore fishing access and boat launches are scattered around the lake.
The park operates a public swimming pool during the summer season adjacent to picnic areas and pavilions. It is a good midday break for RV families during hot July and August afternoons.
This is a multi-use loop trail that explores woodlands near the former site of an 18th-century iron furnace on the park's eastern side. The route is suitable for hiking and mountain biking at a moderate pace.
Codorus offers a free public disc golf course laid out through open parkland and tree lines. It is a casual activity that works well between fishing or boating sessions.
The shallow coves and wetland margins of Lake Marburg attract migrating waterfowl, ospreys, and bald eagles. Early morning paddles and lakeside pull-offs are rewarding spots for spotting wildlife.
Several reservable pavilions and open picnic areas sit along the lakeshore with views of the water. Parking loops accommodate most tow vehicles and smaller RVs for day use.
Daniel was a fantastic host that came in the clutch for us when another host unexpectedly cancelled on us. The camper was exactly what was advertised, pricing was awesome, clean, and communication was on point! I would recommend Daniel and his camper to anyone looking to rent for their next adventure!
