The best time for RV travel to Conkle Lake is from late June through August, when access roads are dry, the campground is fully operational, and lake temperatures are warm enough for swimming. July and August are peak season and sites fill quickly, so early arrival is recommended. Shoulder seasons in June and September can be quieter but bring cooler nights and the possibility of muddy stretches on the gravel approach. Wood ticks are most prevalent between March and June, so bring repellent and long pants for spring visits.

Conkle Lake is a dedicated rainbow trout fishery stocked with fry by the Summerland Trout Hatchery. A provincial freshwater licence is required, and shoreline and small-boat angling are both popular. bcparks.ca/conkle-lake-park/
The large sandy beach and cold, clear lake water make this a popular swimming spot in summer. There are no lifeguards on duty and the beach has a steep drop-off, so supervise children closely. bcparks.ca/conkle-lake-park/
Paddling is enhanced by a motorboat size restriction that keeps the lake quiet. The 3 km long lake, framed by steep hillsides, offers sheltered water for canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. bcparks.ca/conkle-lake-park/
A 2 km trail starts between campsites 32 and 33 and travels part way around the lake to a waterfall just outside the park boundary. Use caution near the steep, hazardous cliffs at the falls and keep to marked trails. bcparks.ca/conkle-lake-park/
Regular southerly winds create windsurfing opportunities on Conkle Lake. The motorboat restriction keeps the surface uncluttered for wind-powered sports. bcparks.ca/conkle-lake-park/
The park lies in Okanagan Highland habitat that supports deer, elk and moose. Early morning and dusk are the best times to watch from quiet viewpoints or around the campground perimeter. bcparks.ca/conkle-lake-park/
Day-use areas near the beach offer picnic tables in a forest of western larch and lodgepole pine. It is an easy stop for RV travellers touring the Kettle Valley and Boundary region. bcparks.ca/conkle-lake-park/

We had a great trip in Osoyoos thanks to Bjorn and his trailer. The trailer is in good condition and comes with a king bed which was an unexpected highlight of the trip. Bjorn was very helpful throughout the booking and delivery process and communicated with us every step of the way. Very happy with our experience and we would absolutely rent from Bjorn again.

Conkle Lake Provincial Park, BC, Canada
The park sits in the Okanagan Highland east of Osoyoos, with Rock Creek, Westbridge, Midway, Greenwood and Osoyoos as the nearest service communities. From Osoyoos, drivers typically head east on Highway 3 and then north on gravel forest service roads, a trip of roughly 1.5 to 2 hours depending on conditions; from Kelowna, allow about 2.5 to 3 hours via Highway 33 and Westbridge. The final approach is on narrow, winding gravel roads with steep sections, so large RVs and trailers should travel slowly and check conditions before departure. BC Parks advises against the Google Maps route from OK Falls, which is not maintained or signed. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Kelowna International Airport (YLW).
