How to get to Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

The park sits about 17 miles north of Fredericksburg via RM 965, roughly 90 miles (about 1.5 to 2 hours) west of Austin and around 95 miles (about 2 hours) north of San Antonio. RM 965 is a paved two-lane Hill Country road with some narrow sections, low-water crossings, and tight curves, so drivers of larger rigs should plan for a slower pace and watch for oncoming traffic. There are no tunnels or major mountain passes on the route. The nearest major airports for fly-and-rent trips are Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and San Antonio International Airport.
