From Santa Barbara the trip is about 60 miles and 90 minutes; from Los Angeles it is roughly 160 miles and three hours via Highway 101 and Highway 1. Large motorhomes and long trailers should drive Jalama Road slowly due to steep grades, sharp bends, and limited passing room. The nearest commercial airport for fly-and-rent trips is Santa Barbara Airport, with larger service available at Los Angeles International.
