MacKerricher State Park is located three miles north of Fort Bragg on Highway 1, a scenic coastal route. From Santa Rosa, the drive is 109 miles northwest (approximately 2.5 hours); from Sacramento, it is 192 miles (about 4 hours). The nearest major airports for fly-and-rent are San Francisco International and Oakland International, approximately 177-180 miles south (3-4 hours drive). Highway 1 is a narrow, winding coastal road in some sections; check current conditions before traveling with larger RVs.

Late June through August offer the warmest, driest conditions with daytime highs around 63-68°F, though this is peak season. May and September-October are ideal for fewer crowds and mild temperatures between 56-67°F.
