Late spring through early fall, roughly May through October, is the best time to visit Maybury State Park, with mild temperatures ideal for biking, hiking, and horseback riding. Summer weekends bring the largest crowds at trailheads and the farm, so weekday or early-morning visits are easier for RV day trips. Fall brings cool air and colorful hardwood foliage on the trails. Winter access continues for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing when snow permits, though facilities are limited.
Park open for day use; trails may be snow or ice covered. Cross-country skiing when conditions allow.
Cold and often snowy; winter trail use only.
Thaw season; mountain bike trail may close when muddy to protect tread.
Wet spring; check trail status before riding.
Strong shoulder season for hiking and biking.
Warm and humid; busy weekends at the farm and trailheads.
Peak season; arrive early for parking.
Peak season; watch for afternoon thunderstorms.
Comfortable riding and hiking weather.
Peak fall color in the hardwoods.
Cool and damp; early snow possible.
Park open for day use; bike trails closed with snow cover, winter uses only.
The park's single-track mountain bike loop winds through wooded, rolling terrain and is one of the most popular close-to-Detroit rides. The trail is directional and closes when wet to protect the tread, so riders should check current status before heading out.
A paved loop trail links the main parking area, concession building, and Maybury Farm, offering an easy ride or walk suitable for families and casual cyclists. The path is wide, gently rolling, and accessible directly from the main day-use lot.
Maybury Farm is a working living history farm inside the park, operated by the Northville Community Foundation, with barns, pastures, and seasonal animal encounters. Visitors can meet farm animals, take wagon rides on select days, and attend seasonal events like the fall corn maze.
Maybury offers several miles of hiking routes through woodlands, meadows, and wetlands, including connector paths between the trailhead, pond, and farm. Most trails are gentle and well signed, making them a good choice for a short RV day stop.
Dedicated bridle paths loop through the park for horseback riders, and a private concessionaire historically offers guided trail rides and lessons from a stable on site. Riders bringing their own horses should use the designated equestrian parking and staging area.
A stocked fishing pond near the main day-use area provides easy shoreline access for panfish, bass, and trout in season. A Michigan fishing license is required for anglers of eligible age, and the pond is a short walk from the paved parking lots.
When snow cover allows, the park's trail network becomes a winter recreation destination for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The same multi-use and hiking corridors are used, and facilities are limited to day-use hours.
Picnic shelters, open lawns, and a family playground sit near the main entrance and concession building, making the park a convenient lunch stop for RV travelers. Shelters can be reserved in advance through the Michigan DNR for group outings.
This was our very first time renting an RV, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment we booked, our host, Binbin, was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming. Anytime I had a question—no matter how small—I could call or message him, and he was always quick to answer. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly and never made me feel like I was asking too many questions. By the time we left, I felt like an RV pro thanks to him! The RV itself was absolutely beautiful, spotless, and exceptionally well maintained. It was comfortable, spacious, and had everything my family needed for an amazing trip. You can tell Binbin truly takes pride in taking care of his RV and making sure his guests have a wonderful experience. This trip created memories we'll never forget, and a big part of that was because of how wonderful Binbin was as a host. I genuinely can't say enough good things about him. If you're considering renting an RV, I highly recommend this one. We will definitely be renting from Binbin again for our future trips. Thank you, Binbin, for making our first RV adventure so enjoyable, stress-free, and memorable!

We had a great trailer rental experience. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-prepared. The fresh sheets, towels, and selection of games were thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. Communication was excellent throughout the process, and they took the time to clearly explain how everything worked, which made our stay stress-free from the start. It was clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining the trailer and making guests feel welcome. We truly appreciated the attention to detail and would happily rent from them again. Highly recommended!

Tye and Taunya were amazing hosts. They both came and set everything up for us and showed us how to work everything. If we had any questions they responded right away. They have a beautiful trailer and we are very thankful we were able to rent it and had a wonderful vacation with our grandchildren. We would highly recommend contacting them if you are thinking of renting a trailer. It comes with everything you need. They are great people to deal with.

Maybury State Park, MI, United States
Maybury State Park sits off Eight Mile Road in Northville, about 30 miles from downtown Detroit (roughly 40 minutes) and about 25 miles southeast of Ann Arbor (roughly 35 minutes). Most RVers approach via I-275, M-14, or I-96, all of which connect to local arterials leading to the park entrance. Roads in the area are flat suburban highways with no mountain grades or tunnel restrictions, though low bridges and height-restricted overpasses on some Detroit-area parkways should be avoided when routing a tall rig. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW), about 20 miles south of the park.
