Moonshine Lake Provincial Park, AB, Canada
Moonshine Lake Provincial Park is located 27 kilometres west of Spirit River on Highway 49, then 7 kilometres north on Highway 725. Spirit River is approximately 78 kilometres north of Grande Prairie, typically a 1-hour drive. Grande Prairie Regional Airport (YQU) is the closest commercial airport for fly-and-rent options, approximately 100 kilometres from the park. Highway 49 and 725 are standard provincial roads suitable for most RVs; check 511 Alberta for current conditions before traveling.
Summer months from June through August offer the warmest temperatures and most lake activities, with daytime highs around 20-23 degrees Celsius. The shoulder seasons of May and September provide fewer crowds and pleasant weather, though regular camping closes September 3 due to facility maintenance. Winter visitors enjoy cross-country skiing and ice fishing, though the park receives significant snowfall and requires cold-weather camping preparations.

Felicia was amazing. She set up the site, provided everything we requested and even went out of her way to drive back and bring us a generator when ours didn’t work. Highly recommend this host as she made sure our weekend accommodations were top notch!
